🦞MOBILISATION DESIGN 🦞

Hey everyone, the period of climate resistance is coming up quickly.

The climate crisis is a by-product of the entire Australian political and economic system.

Across this mobilisation, we are aiming to frame Sydney as a target which enables this destruction in the same way that the Newcastle Coal Port and Port of Botany do.

To do this, we will focus action primarily on the central part of the city, at peak hour. This allows us to cause the greatest amount of targeted disruption to the functioning of Sydney.

We will co-ordinate a series of crowd-based actions across the week of resistance. If you have planned your own action or set of actions with an affinity group and would like to co-ordinate it with the rest of the program of the week, please get in touch!

From June 27 to July 2 we are aiming to demonstrate a unified and powerful resistance force to Australia.

We ask that instead of coming with the branding, or politics of another group or campaign, people focus their attention on these shared goals.

If you are coming as part of a group, we are preferencing involvement as follows:

1. Come along and participate in the daily co-ordinated actions.

2. Come along and do your own action that aligns with the resistance strategy. Participate in the daily co-ordinated program where possible/desired. Note that actions without ‘group’ style branding will be more likely to be shared via Blockade Australia’s media.

3. Come along and do an action with your group. If it does not align with the explicit strategy or messaging of this mobilisation, it may not be broadcast in Blockade Australia’s networks. Still, the more disruption and action, the better!

Please get in touch by talking to someone who has been co-ordinating your local chats, by emailing blockadeaustralia@protonmail.com, or by contacting @SophiaColvin

Each day, we will ensure there is sufficient time for planning, briefing, and debriefing to ensure everyone has the most fulfilling and rich experience working in a co-ordinated cell.

DAY ONE: RESIST CLIMATE DESTRUCTION

https://fb.me/e/1TtL6jCWU

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for staying so staunch and strong.

For anyone not in the loop, on Sunday morning, a group of people were ambushed by camo clad people carrying guns. Then, dozens of police detained and searched everyone and declared the camp a crime scene. People were arrested and are now being refused bail in order to restrain them from standing up against a system dedicated to ongoing climate destruction.

We cannot allow police repression to succeed in preventing us from taking action against a rigged system that needs to be stopped. Please continue to make plans to come and be a part of this mobilisation. It is more crucial now than ever to demonstrate organised and powerful resistance in the face of Australia’s repressive tactics.

Next week the Mobilisation begins.

On Monday the 27th, Day One, we will converge on Sydney to resist climate destruction through mass disruption of the CBD. Make sure you click the event link above and share this message through all your networks. Make sure all your friends are with you.

We are fighting for clean air, drinkable water and for a safe climate. Australia is blocking this. Australia’s mission is in direct conflict with the interests of life on Earth.

Meaningful climate action must materially challenge Australia’s operations. Our only option is to push back with more conviction and no fear. Fear and apathy are our oppositions only hope.

Don’t let them beat us, join us on June 27.

Hey everyone - please read this re accommodation.

Unfortunately the police have taken large amounts of equipment and we are not able to provide a full camp set up for all of you so we are asking that people self-organise.

If you are still planning to camp, there are plenty of free campsites around Sydney. Look for sites close to train lines for ease of access to the CBD. Think about caravan parks, friends farms, properties and places you can use and perhaps offer for camping during the mobilisation.

If you are planning to stay in the city, there are a few beds still available in already booked hostels. There are also plenty of other accommodation options. Check with friends, book Airbnb’s or Stayz (booking sites), or hostels and hotels.

If you have accommodation options available for others to use and would like to send them through to be used during the mobilisation please get in touch. Assume there are some risks associated with this due to heavy police presence.

If people have other ideas or would like to suggest camp sites for groups of people to camp at, please use this channel and comment on this post. We think camping together would be beneficial for all involved in this mobilisation, as a large part of next week is building networks and community. If you have skills and equipment to help facilitate this, we welcome your help and can aid in supporting.

Message @HugoCorbet you can help or need more info.

Thankyou and see you all soon!

Hey everyone. Thanks for being patient as we clarify what’s ahead!

This weekend we will be having workshops and skill-shares for those who are joining us for our upcoming mobilisation. Come to get briefed, share lunch and meet up with others.

Be mindful that this place will be known to police. We will have safety and wellbeing protocols in place, but do whatever else you need to keep you and your mates as safe as possible.

See you soon 🔥

Hey everyone, you might’ve heard that the police have been trying to steal phones. This is a quick message on how you can keep your device safe while resisting climate destruction this week.

We will be communicating important action information over Telegram, so its best to bring your phone to the actions.

If you do bring it, make sure you have a good password on it, delete any information you want to keep private, add a passcode to your telegram app and make sure your notification can’t be read on the lock screen!

Tips for during the protest:
Film on a locked screen, don’t let cops read your messages, use encrypted messaging apps, photograph badge numbers when you think its necessary.
Be aware of your surrounding… people, cops, cars etc

It’s time to resist Australia’s climate destruction. Let’s do this.

Looking forward to seeing you!

TOMORROW WE MOBILISE!

Join us in disrupting the system that has led us towards climate collapse. Stand in solidarity in Sydney’s CBD tomorrow!

ACTION LOCATION:
Meet Corner of Elizabeth and Park St between Bathurst and Park st (south end of Hyde park)

ACTION TIME: 8am

More details:
We will be meeting and then moving through the city to cause disruption. This won't be like a regular rally with speeches and a lot of time standing around - we will be meeting at 8am sharp and then moving quickly from there.

Depending on police tactics you may be required to run or disperse depending on your abilities. Be prepared to walk on roads and stop cars from passing.

It's important for the safety of all that we do not escalate or react aggressivly to police. The police will try to make us escalate, to enable them to use violence and manipulate the public to think it's acceptable and appropriate. The police will try to find any way to delegitmise us so always remain de-escalatory. If you see people in the crowd yelling abuse, try to calm them down and remove them from the situation. The focus of this protest is not the police. The reason we are taking to the streets is to resist the climate destruction perpetrated by the entire system of Australia. The best way to challenge the system is with coordinated, organised and targeted disruption. If we remain calm, assertive and focused we will have a better chance to succeed.

POLICE MONITORING:
It is important to hold the police accountable and have the evidence to do so.

Filming police:
- Film in landscape (sideways)
- Hold phone close to you to keep steady (preferably towards your chest height)
- Upload the footage as soon as possible via the QR scanner (link available in other places upon request)

Thank you to all those who have joined us on the streets the last two days. It’s been a lot, we hope everyone is okay. We are all doing important work to build a movement that is proportionate to the risk Australian and it’s institution pose to our life support systems. The blocking of important action from Australia and its allies is propelling us toward intensifying disasters.

We have made the call for tomorrow to be a day off. We want people to have a chance to rest, regroup and support one another as well as connect with those who share our common purpose of resisting climate destruction. If you would like to meet up with others tomorrow to eat, give or get support please message @HugoCorbet

Rest well and stay vigilant.

Blockade Australia: Resist Climate Inaction pinned «WE GO AGAIN Today we took to the streets and stood against repression and the destruction of the climate. Join us tomorrow in disrupting the system that has led us towards climate collapse. Stand in solidarity in Sydney’s CBD tomorrow! ACTION LOCATION:…»
We thank you all for joining this online space that feeds our resistance to Australia’s system that fuels climate destruction.

A special thank you to those who gathered with us on the streets for Monday and Tuesdays disruptions.

We have endured extreme state repression. It has challenged our plans and further exposed what Australia will do to protect its own interest. We are tired but not broken, and moved by all the solidarity and support.

We have made the hard choice to end the mobilisation and wait until next time when we are bigger and stronger. We call on people to continue to take disruptive climate action in any way they can.

The climate crisis threatens all life on earth. We are rising up against powerful structures that will always act to protect themselves. But we are resilient, adaptable and reflective and the urgency is too great to shrink small.

We know the resistance will grow, and we hope you stay with us.

Speak to your friends, family and communities and join our upcoming info nights and events.

Until next time 🔥

Blockade Australia Info Sessions!!!

Come along to hear about how you can #BlockadeAustralia by getting involved locally in the ongoing resistance.

Recent actions from the Newcastle Coal Port, to Port Botany and now the across Sydney are showing what’s possible when an organised resistance causes sustained material disruption to Australia - the rigged, corporate machine that is driving climate and social collapse. The immense police and government response has validated the importance of targetting the system with these forms of action.

This is just the beginning, more people are more determined than ever to be a part of meaningful resistance.

FOOTAGE FINALLY RELEASED! CHECK THE LINK TO WATCH. WARNING: POLICE ATTEMPT TO RUN OVER AND DRIVE WITH PEOPLE ON VEHICLE.

From eleven people arrested in the raids that came before the Sydney mobilisation (June '22), the last two have been sentenced. Hannah and Clancy each received a six month conditional release order.

Of the 11 people arrested and charged for the botched colo raid, 4 had their charges completely withdrawn, two of whom went to prison for 3 weeks following their arrest. All charges of assault police, intimidate police and affray were dropped.

We thank the community for the ongoing support after the extreme repression we have faced from the state in the last twenty months since the raid. If you have the ability to donate to help fund the legal costs now and in the future.
