Two dates are worth watching:

📅 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳
The GENIUS Act is expected to take effect, with payment stablecoin issuers generally required to operate under an appropriate federal or state licensing framework.

📅 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟴
Digital asset service providers generally won't be able to offer or sell payment stablecoins to U.S. persons unless they come from permitted issuers.

But the bigger story isn't just the dates.

Stablecoins sit at the center of 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗹𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻-𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

You’ll often see terms like:

But here's the part that matters:

𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗶𝘁.

Regulators maintain public registers. Search for the exchange by name and check whether the registration or authorization is actually active.

And remember what a license 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 guarantee.

It doesn't mean an exchange can't fail, experience a security incident, or eliminate every risk associated with trading digital assets.

The difference can look small on a single trade.
