🎉Today is January 3rd, the eleventh anniversary of the Bitcoin Genesis Block.🎉
Eleventh years ago, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the first block of Bitcoin, not knowing that his invention was going to take the internet by storm a few years later. Today we celebrate Bitcoin's birthday with some days of interesting facts about the Genesis block and the history of Bitcoin itself.

Every time a block is created, a field called 'coinbase_input' can be used by the person who mined to block to include data. People have harcoded even marriage proposals in the coinbase data. Nowadays, most miners use the coinbase data to mention who mined the block. However, Bitcoin's Genesis Block has one of the most famous phrases in Bitcoin history, hardcoded forever by Satoshi in the Coinbase data of the Genesis block:
The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks
Many believe this was a philosophical and political message in response to 2008's economic crisis and the subsequent bank bailouts.

The first Bitcoin Tweet
Hal Finney was a developer for the PGP Corporation and a cypherpunk who ran a cryptography remailer. In addition, Hal also created RPOW, the first Proof-of-Work system before Bitcoin. When Satoshi announced Bitcoin on the cypherpunks mailing list, Hal was one of the first people to run Bitcoin.
Hal immortalized the moment on the first ever tweet to mention Bitcoin: https://twitter.com/halfin/status/1110302988
A day later, Hal Finney was the recipient of the first Bitcoin transaction when he received 10 Bitcoins from Satoshi (view it here)
Hal was diagnosed with ALS in August 2009. He lived his last years paralyzed on a wheelchair, however he kept coding software for Bitcoin until he died. He was cryopreserved years later.
As of today, many people believe Hal Finney was Satoshi Nakamoto, and that he sent a transaction to himself to add some validation to the infant network. Among the facts sustaining this conspiracy is their similar writing style, their background in cryptography
