For almost 2 weeks, BTC has been trading back and forth between an extremely tight range ($16,500 - $17,500), which has seen no significant move to either the upside or to the downside regardless of volatility. New years is , however, expected to shake us the market with decent strength, meaning we're expecting the start of a significant mid term move in the next few days.

BTC remains in the same mid term range we've been in for over a week, with tiny price action variation between $16,500 and $17,500. We can see that the bears have managed to push BTC down to $16,600 over the last couple of hours, however, their volume hasn't been enough for a much lower move yet. The bulls still need to see a clear break and close above $18,500 for confirmation.
⚪️SENTIMENT
Mid and long term sentiment are still neutral, and waiting for at least a few days worth of solid bearish or bullish price action before tilting in favor of either. Short term sentiment, on the other hand, has seen a small decrease favoring the bears, and this could become an even lower move in the next few days if support isn't found around $16,000 - $16,500.
