We have prepared drafts for the traffic light 🚦
Next we’ll use ironing to make them a bit more flat 🤞
I expected it to be more accurate, but let’s be happy with what we have ☺️

Well, the ironing doesn’t help much
But this is enough for the first DIY project! Right? Right?… 🙄
We’ve built a box and added more plastic. Now we’ll try another round of ironing 🚬

In my opinion it looks quite ugly but the kid likes this 😆

Okay, looks a bit better (but really a bit 🤏)
If you have an option to use 3D Printer or at least plastic sheets— use them without hesitation

For ironing I use this device, it’s just a normal 🚬 with a flat soldering iron tip. I found 250C a good temperature for melting. Normally ~200C is the working temperature for PLA plastic.

We’ve tried to make a solid platform with LEDs but unfortunately soldering didn’t go well.
To fix that we need to use Flux. It’s great that we found one which doesn’t require cleaning after. But it’s a bit expensive for that thing because of delivery.

Actually I find this to be a big problem these days. You can order almost everything, but it’s much more expensive compared to the stores. You cannot just order 1 piece for a normal prise — either expensive or a lot of items.
Besides that, the worse — there are almost no stores left 😢

When our lovely neighbor found out we were building a traffic light, and since she’s a crafty person who makes lots of cool things by hand, she offered to help. I mentioned that it was hard to find ready-made plastic parts. She suggested a bunch of options, from simple (ready to assemble) to complex (do everything yourself).
She even made a model like this! 😍
