🎞Fall 2021 Recorded lectures + Slides from Edwards Lab in Georgetown University

πŸ’₯This course provides a hands-on introduction to programming for bioinformatics using the scripting language Python. Students will build a portfolio of scripts that automate common bioinformatics tasks, from reading and writing common bioinformatics file formats and accessing data in relational databases and web-based repositories, interfacing with external tools such as blast, and building web-based resources for use by interactive users or as web-services.

🎡 Hear the proteins music

We believe that hearing the sound of life at the molecular level could help inspire people to learn more about biology and the computational sciences. While creating music based on proteins isn’t new, different musical styles and composition algorithms had yet to be explored. So we led a team of students and other scholars to figure out how to create classical music from proteins.
