🇧🇷🪖🚩💥🇩🇪 — Brazilian Army Commander goes to Germany to try to review veto on Brazilian armored vehicles

General Tomás Paiva, commander of the Brazilian Army, was in Germany with a delegation to try to resume the import of a part used to manufacture the Guarani armored vehicle - the main military vehicle produced in Brazil. Since February this year, Brazil has been under an embargo for the acquisition of a transmission box used in the manufacture of the vehicle.

The Germans argue that the Guarani sale agreement signed by Brazil with the Philippines violates other sanctions imposed by the Europeans on the Southeast Asian country. The Philippine government is facing accusations of human rights violations.

In order for the production of the armored vehicle, made in Sete Lagoas (MG), not to be interrupted, a Brazilian company was contracted in March to deliver a part similar to the one needed. There is no precise information on the impact of the change on the vehicle's performance.
