🇮🇱🇵🇸📰 Times of Israel: IDF withdraws all ground troops from southern Gaza, leaving just one brigade in the enclave

➡️ Overnight, the IDF withdrew all ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip, after four straight months of fighting in the Khan Younis area.

➡️ Only one brigade, Nahal, currently remains in the Gaza Strip.

➡️ The Nahal Brigade is tasked with securing the so-called Netzarim Corridor, which crosses Gaza from the Be’eri area in southern Israel to the Strip’s coast.

➡️ The corridor enables the IDF to carry out raids in northern and central Gaza, prevents Palestinians from returning to the northern part of the Strip, and allows humanitarian organizations to deliver aid directly to northern Gaza.

🇺🇸 ❌️ 🇮🇱 Nancy Pelosi Among 40 Democrats Urging Biden to Halt Pending Israel Arms Sales, Condition Aid

🔶️ The former House speaker's inclusion on the letter is an indication to how far Israel has fallen in the eyes of the Democratic Party amid the ongoing Gaza war

🔶️ Pelosi was elected to Congress in 1987 and served as House speaker from 2006 to 2011, resuming the position in 2019. She has long been viewed as one of AIPAC's staunchest allies in Congress, though had notably grown closer to J Street toward the tail end of her tenure as speaker. She had attempted to navigate the rise of the Democratic Party's progressive wing, simultaneously finding herself criticized by progressive lawmakers while taking AIPAC to task for targeting such lawmakers in an overly personal way.

🇮🇱🇵🇸 The Israeli army has announced the withdrawal of troops from Khan Yunis. The 98th Division has left the southern Gaza Strip after four months of fighting. Israeli journalists report that the troop withdrawal is unrelated to political disputes. The Israel Defense Forces will continue operations in Khan Yunis, but they will now focus on raiding activities.

Many observers of the conflict in the Gaza Strip are wondering: does this decision mean that the operation in Rafah has been canceled?

The answer is no. The withdrawal of troops from Khan Yunis is actually a sign of preparation for the operation. Previously, refugees stranded in the border zone with Egypt had no options due to the significant IDF presence in Khan Yunis, Bani Suheil, and other settlements. Now, masses of people can be redirected from the Egypt border to the northeast.

🔻Therefore, despite local Palestinian factions claiming victory and expulsion of the "occupiers," this indicates they are in the final stages of preparing for the operation in the "Philadelphia Corridor."

By dismantling some of the Hamas infrastructure in Khan Yunis and its surroundings, and weakening the military's firing capabilities, the IDF can now relocate crowds of refugees from Rafah to the now-devastated Khan Yunis. #Israel #Palestine

🇷🇴🔫⚡️ S.C. Arsenal ordnance factory to resume operation in Romania

The Reșița Steelworks is resuming production after a 15 year long break, with British and Emirati funds.

Over the next six months, the first stage will take place: the plant will undergo a recovery process and hire 75 employees to complement the current team of 32. The plant will start producing 152-mm artillery shells.

After the deployment of serial projectile production, the number of employees will increase to 200-300. In the future, the number of workers is planned to increase significantly.

The S.C. Arsenal Reşiţa S.A. plant, formerly Arsenal Reșița, was founded in 1972 and produced more than 60% of the artillery systems and shells of the Romanian military during its operation. In 2008, the factory received its last order, after which it closed its doors. Currently, only 32 employees work at the enterprise.
