🇪🇷❌🇩🇪 — On social medias, it was reported that clashes broke out during an Eritrean Festival that was taking place at the Western German city of Giessen, 50 km N of Frankfurt.

About 1,000 officers, a water cannon and helicopters are deployed in the city after a major unrest took place there, as local law enforcement said bottles were thrown and smoke bombs were ignited as individuals tried to tear down barricades around the festival venue.

Local authorities had tried to ban the festival after similar unrest linked to political differences within the Eritrean migrant community occurred there last year, but a court overturned the order.

Tens of thousands of different habesha ethnic groups have fled Eritrea — often nicknamed the North Korea of Africa — for Europe, many alleging they were mistreated by the dictatorial regime of Isaias Afwerki.

🇺🇦🤝🇺🇦🇹🇷 — On Today, July 8, 2023, in a surprise announcement, Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy stated that following his visit to the Turkish Republic, where he met with Turkish President Erdogan, all leaders of the Ukraine's Azov Regiment whom fought during the Siege of Mariupol until its capitulation & were detained in Turkey returned to Ukraine.

— "We are returning home from Türkiye and bringing our heroes home. Ukrainian soldiers Denys Prokopenko, Svyatoslav Palamar, Serhiy Volynsky, Oleh Khomenko, Denys Shleha. They will finally be with their relatives", said the Ukrainian President in an official statement

On footages and photos published on social medias, Zelenskyy appeared alongside Lt. Colonel Denys Prokopenko, the Commander of the national-socialist unit, as well the other Ukrainian soldiers who were in Turkish soil, before they boarded a Czech airplane together

It is worth remembering that Mr. Prokopenko and other Azov leaders were supposed to be in Turkey until the end of the conflict in Ukraine, as agreed between Russia, Ukraine and Turkey last September 2022

🇺🇦🤝🇺🇦 — One hour ago, it was reported on Ukrainian and Pro-Ukraine social medias that Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky had arrived in Lviv, the historical heart of the Ukrainian Nationalism, together with the Commanders of Azov Regiment, including Denys Prokopenko, released from Turkey/Türkiye today.

Per the reports, as locals gathered across the Svobody Avenue, Central Lviv, as they waited for the moment when the Ukrainian nationalists alongside the Ukrainian President were to arrive.

Metal detectors were installed around a stage that was built for the commanders of the National-Socialist unit of Ukrainian National Guard, with the square also being cordoned off by the Lviv Police
