Turkish aviation authorities cancelled Flyone Armenia's permission to operate flights to Europe through Turkish airspace without prior notice, for unclear reasons and without visible grounds. This was stated by Flyone Armenia's Chairman, Aram Ananyan, to Armenpress.

Meanwhile, Turkish airlines calmly use Armenian airspace for flights from Baku to Istanbul.

- PARAGUAYAN ELECTIONS TOMORROW -

Tomorrow will be a very interesting day in geopolitics, the traditionally right-wing corporatist socially conservative Colorado Party under the Honor Colorado wing will be facing the left-wing coalition Concertación Nacional under the Liberal wing.

Paraguay has been a a stronghold for the right in South America, from the days of Stroessner who led the Colorado party onwards the party has ruled the country since 1953, with the only exception being between 2008 and 2013, the Colorado party has sought to mantain stability and growth at all costs while still keeping it's ideological background.

However unlike previous elections this is the first time the Colorado party has officially lost the support of the United States, as even under the awful Carter administration Paraguay still enjoyed a degree of US support even if it was materially reduced,

But now the US embassy has done effectively all it could to discredit the Colorado party and try to sway the election on the side of the Liberals, this coupled with 🇨🇳 China also openly supporting and covertly funding the leftwing liberals to drop recognition of Taiwan who remains a staunch ally to Paraguay making the small landlocked nation the only South American country to formally recognize the 🇹🇼 ROC as the legitimate ruler of China.

It is perhaps why Russia has jumped on this opportunity and began the process to warm up to a Colorado party stuck fighting a political enemy who is backed by both communists and liberals, Paraguay has remained neutral on the Ukrainian-Russian war and has openly stated that it wasn't in the interest of South America to choose sides in this conflict.

Despite the newly formed Liberal coalition it is expected that the Colorado party will come off victorious but with so much at play from foreign actors anything could happen.

It's important to note that geopolitical alliances are shifting and it can be borderline schizophrenic to see Taiwanese and Russians backing a right-wing party while the United States and China are backing the left-wing coalition, but South America is always schizophrenic.

🇲🇩🗳🟦⬜️🟥 Currently, the title of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia is disputed between a number of Russophilic and Turkophillic candidates.

Out of the 8 candidates for the position of Governor, two have the backing of two pro-Russian political parties, The Socialist Party (PSRM) and The Shor Party, one has the backing of current governor, Irina Vlah.

Despite this, Moldovan president, Maia Sandu, said that "all the candidates are agents of the Russian Federation".

Until 2 PM local hours, under 25% of the eligible voters, around 23k people, have cast their vote.

🇲🇩🗳🟦⬜️🟥 There is no secret that the pro-Western government in Chisinau and PAS as a whole do not get along with the conservative and Russian oriented Găgăuzia.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Deutsche Welle and a slew of other Western medias have accused a number of Gagauzian politicians of Russian ties albeit not citing their evidence to confirm their claims in some cases.

The Gagauzian governor is an ex-officio member of the Moldovan Government. His role is very limited in scope as the autonomy of Găgăuzia was never defined properly and integrated into the Moldovan legislation. There is a lot of ambiguity regarding the legality of the existence of Găgăuzia as a whole, tying back to 1994 when the president at the time, Mircea Snegur, gave into the demands of the Gagauzians to prevent another rebellion which would've likely given a new pretext for the Russian troops stationed in Transnistria to attack Moldova again after winning the Transnistrian War.

The autonomy won by the Gagauzians was always meant to be temporary as Chisinau, under pro-Western governments, sought to reintegrate the region into Moldova proper while pro-Russian government impeded such processes in order to keep the autonomy of the region alive as to cause instability when necessary.
