The US is not seeking to decouple its economy from China or limit the countryโs growth, the Treasuryโs top international official said on Monday.
The worsening relations have weighed on the global economic outlook, the International Monetary Fund warned last week. The fund said tensions between the US and China drive geopolitical fragmentation and risk damaging the global economy, with foreign direct investment and other capital flows increasingly being channeled toward aligned blocs of countries.

The federal government is studying the possibility of asking for the ban of the social network if it does not adapt its policy to the rules against virtual and de facto crimes in the national territory.
Employees of the platform, who report directly to Elon Musk, classified that the determinations could attack individual freedoms and user privacy.
"Brazil will not watch Twitter or any social network practice or support crimes. Those who do not comply with our legislation will be punished and may be banned forever," the government representative said on condition of secrecy.
