🇨🇳 🇹🇼 How a blockade around Taiwan would materialize:

⬛️ Easiest and cheapest to implement would be to use missiles to destroy the 16 ports of all types in Taiwan.

⬛️ This alone ends Taiwan's ability to receive any bulk goods.

⬛️ Add a no-fly-zone around it, you have a blockade.

⬛️ The next tier would be to have Chinese naval assets creating a screening fleet surrounding the island.

⬛️ This is used to deter a potential US naval involvement, the Chinese screening fleet may not have to take part in the campaign directly.

⬛️ The Suez Canal, which is way more important than Taiwan strait, was blocked for 8 years during war between Israel and Egypt.

🇨🇳🇹🇼📰 The Hill: Graham says he is ‘open’ to sending US forces to Taiwan
— Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on Sunday that he is “open” to sending U.S. troops to Taiwan to defend the island, saying that “strategic ambiguity” is not working.

“Fox News Sunday” anchor Shannon Bream asked Graham if the senator would support authorizing U.S. force in Taiwan if tensions rise between the island and China. Graham responded that Congress needs to ask itself whether the U.S. should have a defense agreement with Taiwan.

“So the question for the Congress, should we have a defense agreement with the island of Taiwan? We don’t should we have one?” he said. “But yes, I’d be very much open to using U.S. forces to defend Taiwan, because it’s in our national security interest to do so.”"

🚨🇬🇾🇻🇪 Court of The Hague rules against Venezuela and will advance with the trial for Guyana's claim on the Essequibo:

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled this Thursday, April 6, against Venezuela, by rejecting the preliminary objection raised by the Government of Nicolás Maduro in the case related to the Arbitral Award of October 3, 1899, in the dispute with Guyana for the Essequibo.

"By 14 votes to one, the Court rejects the preliminary objection filed by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela," said the judge and president of the Court, Joan E. Donoghue, when reading the sentence from the La Paz Palace, in The Hague. .

In this way, the ICJ will advance with the analysis of the lawsuit filed by Guyana against Venezuela to resolve the dispute over the validity or otherwise of the Arbitral Award of 1899, which awarded the United Kingdom at the time the territory of Essequibo, a decision that Venezuela has protested ever since.
From Alertas 24

🇻🇪🇬🇾 These are the only presidential candidates who have ruled on the ruling of the International Court of Justice: They all blamed the Government of Nicolás Maduro.

🔵 Maria Corina Machado:

"Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro are to blame for the risk of losing the Essequibo. Whatever happens, the country and history will judge them."

🔵 Delsa Solórzano:

"We must emphasize that having reached this stage, among other things, is due to the indifference with which the Chavo Madurista regime treated the issue. Those who are litigating in the ICJ should be prepared to enter the merits phase."

🔵 Carlos Prosperi:

"What happened today in the ICJ regarding the Essequibo issue shows the disorder and lack of professionalism in diplomacy."

🔵 Capriles Radonski:

"Once again, the incompetence of those who have been in power for years, the so-called revolution, leaves our Venezuela in a weak position that puts our country's territory at risk."

🔵 Cesar Perez Vivas:

"The negligence of the Chávez-Maduro administration over the Essequibo during the last 23 years places our historic territory in an increasingly vulnerable situation."

Guyana celebrates the ICJ decision on the territorial dispute with Venezuela:

Guyanese President Irfaan Ali welcomed this Thursday the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to reject Venezuela's arguments that Guyana's claims are inadmissible in the territorial dispute between the two countries.

The Guyanese president affirmed that his country continues to trust that its former international border with Venezuela will be confirmed by the Court.

"Ultimately, (the Court) will issue a final and binding determination on the validity of the 1899 Arbitral Tribunal Award that fixed the land boundary between Venezuela and then-British Guiana," he stated
Elías Sayegh proposes to create "Venezuelan settlements" in the Essequibo to exercise sovereignty

The national leader of Fuerza Vecinal, Elías Sayegh, proposed creating Venezuelan settlements in the Essequibo with the aim of claiming and recovering the sovereignty of that territory.

“The Essequibo is an integral part of Venezuela, and Venezuelans of this time must take care not only of 'reclaiming' it, but of RECOVERING IT. And that implies concrete action on that part of our territory, cultural, social, humanitarian and, of course, military action. We specifically propose to generate conditions and support to create Venezuelan settlements in that territory of ours, since sovereignty is not only claimed: it is exercised!
🇹🇩🇩🇪 — Chad expels German Envoy Over ‘Impolite Behavior’
— On last April, 7, 2023, Chad's government has in a surprising development, expelled the German ambassador, Jan-Christian Gordon Kricke, from the country, citing his “impolite attitude” and failure to respect diplomatic customs in Chadian Territory.

The government spokesperson in a statement issued on Saturday, claimed that Kricke’s actions were a violation of the Vienna Convention, the international law/principles for diplomatic relations between countries.

Althought no specific reason was given for Kricke’s expulsion, local media reports suggest that the ambassador’s criticism of Chad’s current government may have contributed to the move.

Since April 2021, Chad, an oil-rich country in the eastern Sahel region, has been governed by a transitional military junta headed by France-backed President Mahamat Idriss Déby following the death of his father, longtime ruler Idriss Déby, who was Killed in Action (KIA) leading troops against rebels seeking to overthrow his government.
