🇧🇷🚩🤝🇫🇷 — Macron will travel to Brazil to participate in a summit on the Amazon; the French president was called to be at the conference of presidents of the Amazon countries.

The government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is committed to making Belém (PA) the seat of a summit of presidents of Amazonian countries. The event is scheduled to take place in the first half of August.

For the solemnity, all heads of State of members of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) are expected: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela — in addition to Brazil itself.

The presidential summit aims to address diverse and common issues among the countries of the region, especially in the areas of Environment, Climate and Human Rights.
