SEC said in a press release it was suing Sun, the Tron Foundation, the BitTorrent Foundation and BitTorrent (now known as Rainberry) over the sale of tronix (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT) tokens, which it described as unregistered crypto asset securities.
The regulator further alleged that the defendants "fraudulently manipulat[ed]" TRX's secondary market through an "extensive wash trading" scheme.
The agency is also suing Lindsay Lohan, Jake Paul, Soulja Boy, Lil Yachty, Ne-Yo, Akon and Michele Mason on illegal touting charges for their roles allegedly promoting TRX and BTT without disclosing they were paid to do so

— 🇺🇸💰 The United States' Federal Reserve started reviewing the Digital Dollar, a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) for United States, according to 🇺🇸 US Market-focused Media Wall Street Journal
— "A legislative proposal from Florida Gov. (and possible Republican U.S. presidential candidate) Ron DeSantis would prohibit the use of a national central bank digital currency (CBDC) as money within his state.
— "Today’s announcement will protect Florida consumers and businesses from the reckless adoption of a 'centralized digital dollar' which will stifle innovation and promote government-sanctioned surveillance," DeSantis said in a press release.
The proposed law would also prohibit in Florida the use of a CBDC issued by any overseas central bank. The governor's statement calls on other states to adopt similar legislation."

🇺🇸🇺🇬 US urges Uganda to reconsider new anti-LGBT law
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said anti-LGBT draft legislation passed by Uganda's parliament on Tuesday undermines fundamental human rights and urged the government to reconsider implementing it.
The passed bill says anyone identifying as LGBT could face a long prison sentence. Individuals belonging to organisations supporting LGBT could also go to jail. The legislation goes much further than Uganda's existing laws which ban homosexual activity.

ARGENTINA 🇦🇷
Argentina has a unique system of primary elections compared to most countries, while primaries in most countries consist of a small internal election within their own respective parties in Argentina they are mandatory to all citizens much like the general election however all parties are able to post as many candidates as they would like and the candidate which obtains the most votes of each respective party is the one which is allowed to run for office, also there is a minimum requirement of votes that a potential candidate must get in order to be able to compete in the elections (RIP Bondiola) being 1.5% of all the votes.
This process is called the P.A.S.O
Primarias, Abiertas, Simultáneas y Obligatorias
Primary, Open, Simultaneous and Mandatory
However in practical terms Argentina has been mainly a two party state of two competing coalitions with a general wildcard that never has been able to obtain any serious chance of gaining the presidency as well as some regional parties with only the Córdoba regional party having any real power in congress (we shall touch on Córdobasupremacy political independence in the future)
That said 2023 might actually see the Libertarian party La Libertad Avanza have a chance at the run off, the current leftwing coalition Frente de Todos has an awful reputation with the president Alberto Fernandez having only a 5% approval rate and the main opposition the "center-right" Juntos por el Cambio party unable to secure a solid candidate might give the Libertarians with their cult of personality candidate Javier Milei (A self professed AnCap) a shot, especially as his economic speeches resonate in an Argentina which is undergoing the harshest inflation period since hyperflation sitting at an interanual 103% coupled with the worst harvest in 20 years.

CHILE 🇨🇱
So as many of our readers already know Chile underwent a very difficult time during the 2019 to 2020 (Although they continued well into 2022) "Estallido Social" (Social Outbreak) protest which was a color revolution with heavy Bolivian, Venezuelan and Cuban support aimed at the center """right""" goverment at the time of Sebastian Piñera with the goal of his removal from office, the removal and replacement of the 1980 Constitution which was approved during the Presidency of General Augusto Pinochet (Pinocchio my beloved 🥰🥺) and remains active to this day.
While the protests failed at removing Piñera, they were succesful in calling and subsequently winning the 2020 Constitutional Plebiscite and later on winning the 2021 General election.
The new constitution was the most leftwing constitution in the entirety of the Americas and was on par with those of Communist countries (including effectively banning foreign investment into the country and establishing new Mapuche subnations) for these reasons and also of a Chilean society which has grown tired of the lawlessness and riots the protest had caused it was decisively rejected thus forcing a new Constitutional Council Election and Plebiscite.

PARAGUAY 🇵🇾
It is an understatement to say that Paraguay is a very wacky and unusual country, not even just by international standards but even within South America, most people don't even know of the country let alone it's political leanings or situation.
Paraguay is by far the most rightwing country in South America, it is also the most economically liberal country even called by some (including yours truly) the most ancap country in the continent, sporting outstanding gunlaws, economic freedom to the point it's often called a financial paradise while yet still having a very strong Catholic 🇻🇦 tradition and a good set of socially conservative laws to boot, it is also the only South American country to continue to recognize the ROC 🇹🇼 as the legitimate rulers of China.
The 2023 elections aren't really too noteworthy, the overwhelming majority of the country is actually affiliated to one party being the Colorado Party, this however does not make Paraguay a one party state as other parties are allowed to exist and make a significant chunk of congress, as well as the fact that the Colorado party rarely ever votes in unison with usually two main sub-blocks fighting eachother, it does however mean that during the general elections the Colorado Party almost always wins.
It is important to note that from 1954 to 1989 Alfredo Stroessner (of the Colorado Party) was in power, and despite the coup that was done by his righthand man, the Colorado Party remained in power almost entirely uninterrupted to this day, this coupled with a very strict and responsible economic policy both internal and external has made Paraguay THE most politically stable country in both North and South America.
We have much more to talk about Paraguay in the future considering it's often overlooked importance in South American politics and even internationally.
