🇷🇴🇷🇺🇺🇦 Pro-Russian Romanian senator of Serbian origins, Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă, proposed today a new bill in the Romanian Parliament which called for the immediate denunciation of the Romanian—Ukrainian friendship treaty of 1997 and the immediate annexation of the historic Romanian territories lost in 1940, meaning Southern Bessarabia, Chernivtsi Oblast and Snake Island.

Article 3 which called for the "immediate annexation of historic Romanian territories" is an instant declaration of war targeting Ukraine.

The senator cited as motives, historic claims to the lands as they belonged to the medieval Principality of Moldavia since its inception in the 2nd half of the 14th century until 1812 after Russian annexation, regained in 1918 and lost again in 1940, the need to bring back the Romanian minority into the parent country, poor treatment of the Romanian minority in Ukraine and other violations of clauses of the 1997 friendship treaty.

🇺🇸🤝🇮🇱 — On today, March 21, 2023, 44 retired Military Leaders, including Generals and Admirals of the United States Armed Forces, affiliated with Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) called on the President of United States Joe Biden and US Federal Congress to “immediately provide the State of Israel with the most advanced weapons it needs to deter and prevent a nuclear Iran.”

“By acting now to augment Israel’s military capabilities, the United States can help Israel defend itself by itself, prevent a nuclear Iran, and address one of the most pressing strategic challenges America faces today.”

The 44 generals and admirals write, “the U.S. should expedite delivery—through outright sale, temporary lease, or prepositioning in Israel—KC-46A aerial refueling tankers, F-15I’s, F-35s, and precision-guided munitions, such as the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM).”

The letter argues that “by acting now to augment Israel’s military capabilities, the United States can help Israel defend itself by itself, prevent a nuclear Iran, and address one of the most pressing strategic challenges America faces today.”

The signatories note, “as retired American military leaders who devoted our lives to the defense of our nation, we prefer a diplomatic solution that would genuinely end the threat posed by Iran’s escalating nuclear program. But no such deal is imminent, nor realistic.”

🇧🇷🤝🇺🇳⚖️ — Lula’s chancellor on warrant against Putin: “Brazil follows the Hague International Court”

— Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira said Brazil respects and follows the decisions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, which last week issued an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin for alleged war crimes.

In an interview with the Metropoles column, days before Lula left for China, Vieira said that Brazil has no official position on the warrant, but when asked if Putin would be arrested if he visited Brazil, he admitted that the Russian's presence in any country that is part of the ICC could cause "complications".

A priority topic on the PT's trip to Beijing will be Brazil's initiative to mediate talks to end the war in Ukraine. Chinese President Xi Jinping met Putin in Moscow on Monday (20/3) to discuss the conflict.
