🇻🇳 Vietnam arrests Facebook user for attempt to overthrow the state
Police in Vietnam on Friday arrested a Facebook user whom the authorities accuse of “attempting to overthrow the state” by sharing content that defamed leaders of the ruling Communist Party.
Phan Thi Thanh Nha, 39, was accused of posting and sharing 25 articles and videos since 2018 seeking to distort the leaders of the state.
Nha was also accused by police of joining and recruiting members for the US-based Provisional National Government of Vietnam, a group listed by the Vietnam as a terrorist organization, though not by the United States.

🇦🇷Week-long power cuts hit 100,000 households in Buenos Aires
Residents of Buenos Aires took to the streets Wednesday after days without electricity amid sweltering heat with no end in sight to their plight.
Despite a slight drop in temperature, power cuts persisted. Some people have been powerless for as long as two weeks, it was reported. The complaints were mainly aimed at suppliers Edesur.
Protests were staged in neighborhoods such as Caballito, Floresta, Parque Patricios, and Villa Lugano.
Around 100,000 households were powerless by Wednesday evening, 96.7% of them being clients of Edesur and the other 3.3% of Edenor.

🇪🇹 Ethiopia's Tigray region appoints new interim leader
The dominant party in Ethiopia's northern Tigray region has nominated its spokesman Getachew Reda to be president of a regional interim administration called for in a peace deal that ended a two-year war in the region, party-run media reported.
If Getachew's nomination is approved by the federal government, he would replace TPLF leader Debretsion Gebremichael, who has led Tigray since 2018.
It is not clear when the federal government might weigh in on Getachew's nomination or when the interim administration will be set up.
