U.S. railroad strike averted by late-night deal
Major U.S. railroads and unions secured a tentative deal after 20 hours of intense talks brokered by the Biden administration to avert a rail shutdown that could have hit food and fuel supplies across the country and beyond.
Unions will now vote on the agreement. Even if those votes fail, a rail shutdown that could have happened as soon as midnight Friday has been averted for several weeks due to the standard language included in such a deal, a person familiar with the negotiations said.

🇭🇹🔥📹 — Over the past week, mass protests took to the streets of the main cities of the Republic of Haiti, a Francophone country with an absolute majority of African origin, located in the middle of Caribbe, after new fuel price hikes were imposed by Provisional Haitian Government led by the Centre-Leftist Ariel Henry
Such protests, however, escalated into a nationwide riot & full-scale violence, with the dozens of Armed Outlaws & Gangs who De Facto control the country, alongside angry protesters, started to clash with Government Forces, who responded by opening real fire on protesters, with at least 10 protesters having died during the crackdown.
The Caribbean country, which has been in chaos since the assassination of Conservative President Jovenel Moïse by US-trained Colombian PMCs, again finds itself on the edge of the social and political abyss, without any prospect of change or improvement
