🇺🇸❌🇭🇹 — White House Spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre denies forcing Haiti's Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, to resign, instead saying that the US CARICOM and White House is pressuring the Haitian Provisional Government to accept "Democratic Reforms" and "Restore Democratic order", and as well allow "free and fairer elections" in the country.

This despite the ongoing security and political crisis that is taking place in the country since 2020.

🇭🇹🏴🔥 — Haiti's Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, is in Puerto Rico, unable to return to his country because gangs have surrounded the main Haitian airport

➡️ Henry was in Kenya, passed through the United States, and traveled to Puerto Rico, where American federal agencies, such as the FBI, are protecting him. Previously, he was not allowed to land in the Dominican Republic, the only country with a land border with Haiti, and whose airspace was closed due to the crisis in the neighboring country.

➡️ Gangs demand that Henry step down: he has been governing Haiti since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021, which inflamed disputes between gangs that virtually control the entire Caribbean nation.

🇺🇳 The UN Security Council has scheduled an extraordinary closed-door session to discuss the Haiti case, and the United States and the Caribbean Community (Caricom) are negotiating with Henry to find solutions to the crisis.

‼️ According to information from the Associated Press agency, the US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said that the US has asked Henry to "move forward with a political process that would lead to the establishment of a transitional presidential council that would lead to elections."
