NOW / SUPER TUESDAY — Former President Donald Trump won the Republican primaries in Virginia, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee on Tuesday and was set to sweep the South and possibly all 15 Super Tuesday states as the next crop of states closed their polling sites at 8 PM.

Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, was left pinning her hopes on tiny Vermont, where she and Mr. Trump were locked in a tight contest. With Virginia having gone for Mr. Trump, it is hard to see what state she can win if she cannot secure Vermont, a Democratic state that nonetheless elected a moderate Republican governor in 2016.

On the Democratic side, President Biden quickly claimed victory in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Vermont, as well as the Iowa caucuses, according to The Associated Press, on his way to his own expected sweep.
