🇺🇸 ❌ 🇺🇸📝: For those who don’t catch the subtext to what Lt Gov Patrick is saying here, it’s a pretty implicit threat that an attempt to use force by the Federal government will be met by force in turn on the part of Texas. This follows the Governor of Oklahoma making similar threats the other day, alluding to the possibility of State forces getting into combat with their Federal counterparts.
The implications of what this all means are starting to become obvious to all. If the Federal government responds, it risks an escalation that will spiral into civil war. If they don’t, then for the first time in American history the States of the U.S. will have successfully established a precedent of Nullification, resulting in an erosion of central authority.
There are no good options for Washington at the present.

🔶️ He wants to punish the perpetrators of the attack and deter Iran from its actions in the region. But doing so could put the US into direct confrontation with the leadership in Tehran, which has already been emboldened in the region since the Hamas attack, launching attacks in Iraq and Pakistan.
🔶️ He must also weigh the potential for further economic upheaval as the US contends with Houthi militants - another Iranian proxy - that has roiled global shipping and sparked fears of fresh economic turmoil by targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea, which accounts for 12% of global trade.
🔶️ “The Biden administration is going to have to tread a very delicate line in trying to respond forcefully enough to restore some modicum of deterrence so this doesn’t happen again, while not undertaking a response that escalates the conflict,” said Jonathan Panikoff, director of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative and former deputy national intelligence officer at the National Intelligence Council.

🇷🇴🎉⚡️On January 24th, 2023, Romania was celebrating the 165th anniversary of the Union of Wallachia and Moldavia.
Per protocol, a ceremony was held in King Carol I Park in Bucharest at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where flowers were laid.
For this ceremony, the entirety of the park was closed to the wider public, even though, the date, 24th of January, has become a day of celebrations in Romania as the Union was something both the nobles and the commoners wanted in 1859, with contemporaries like, Alexandru Vlahuță, telling stories of people dancing in the streets upon the news of the Union across the country.
What do these people fear if they cut off access to the public?
