🇩🇪🇩🇪📰 Deutsche Welle: German 'remigration' debate fuels push to ban far-right AfD

➡️ On January 10, the investigative journalism group Correctiv reported on a meeting of politicians from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) and neo-Nazis in a hotel in Potsdam in November.

➡️ The meeting focused on a topic that the participants referred to as "remigration." The term stands for the return, forced or otherwise, of "migrants" to their place of origin — regardless of their citizenship status.

➡️ Right-populist and extreme-right groups use that term to refer to mass deportations and expulsions of migrants and their descendants. According to Correctiv, the invitation for the meeting in Potsdam mentioned that an "overall concept, in the sense of a master plan" was on the agenda.

➡️ Reference was made to the expulsion of asylum seekers, people with residence permits and also German citizens with migrant roots if they did "not adapt to the majority society."

New polls for Germany!

Government again is still unpopular with 29%. Eventhough attacked by the mainstream for having "secret deportation plans" the AfD would get 22% of the votes in a federal election.

BSW, a newly founded spin off from "die Linke", is at 7%

Like here in Munich hundreds of thousands of germans took to the streets this weekend protesting the countries 2nd biggest opposition party AfD.

They believe them to plan mass deportations and to form a new national socialist state.

The AfD heavily rejects these accusations.

How devided Germany currently is shows a comparition with voting polls from Saxony (dark colours) and one held federally (light colours)

The current gouvernement receives just 21%. Saxony can be called AfD's stronghold. The party wins 36% of votes there.
