— China's foreign ministry has called on its citizens to stay clear of conflict areas in Myanmar and to avoid travel in the region. Fighting has intensified in Myanmar's border regions with China.

Myanmar's army-backed president has warned the country is at risk of breaking apart, if the military is unable to curb clashes with insurgents. This comes two weeks after a trio of powerful ethnic armies attacked the military in Northern Shan.

— Myanmar army chief Min Aung Hlaing has vowed to strike back against ethnic armies that came together to launch an offensive a week ago. An alliance of three powerful armed groups -- known as the Brotherhood Alliance -- seized strategic outposts in the north, in their strongest attacks against the military since the coup.

The alliance said it has captured at least 90 military bases.
Myanmar's civilian National Unity Government has said it will join forces with the Brotherhood Alliance in its latest operation.
