🇷🇴🟨⭐️🗳⚡️ The AUR party has begun the preparations for two referendums:

🔸 Giving constitutional protection to the family and marriage between man and a woman

🔸 Giving constitutional protection to cash payments

AUR is now collecting signatures for the referendums. For the referendum to be valid in this case, AUR needs at least 500k signatures with at least 20k signatures from at least half the counties and the municipality of Bucharest. (art. 150 of the Romanian Constitution)

After the Constitutional Court concludes that the initiative to revise the Constitution is not breaching the limits imposed by art. 152 of the Romanian Constitution, the initiative becomes a draft bill and needs to be voted by the two Chambers, separately where the MPs can make changes to the draft bill.

At this stage it will be clear who is a traitor and who's not, as the bill needs a 2/3 majority in each Chamber (or a 3/4 majority in the reunited Chambers) to be able to move to the next stage. The Constitutional Court does a last check to make sure the amendments, if there were any, breach the limits imposed by art. 152. If there are no breaches, the referendum begins. It needs 50%+1 presence to be valid and, of course, a 50%+1 margin of votes in favor to pass.

This is the 2nd attempt to give Constitutional protection to the family and to marriage between a man and a woman, the first one ending in failure in 2018 due to massive disinformation campaigns led by liberal medias that the then president of the Social-Democratic Party, Liviu Dragnea, would use the protection of the family and marriage to "decriminalise corruption" which a lot of Romanians fell for and skipped the vote.
