More than 1,000 people reportedly gathered on Parliament Hill in Ottawa at the peak of the demonstration.

As expected, many Canadian liberals and individuals from the Canadian LGBTI+ community on social media accused the protesters - who by the way were of diverse ethnic backgrounds from Native Anglo-French Canadians to immigrants of African, Arab-Amazigh and Indian origin - of being "Ultra-homophobic" and pave space for โ€œFar-Rightโ€ rhetoric on Homosexual population

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡พโŒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ทโ—๏ธ โ€” Tensions between Argentina and Paraguay over the Paranรก River continue to escalate more and more amid a serious diplomatic clash over tariffs and trade flows

โ€” On this September 20, 2023, the Paraguayan Congressman Rubรฉn Rubin, in an agressive and belligerant tone, said to the Congress of Paraguay that "as a young Paraguayan" he would be capable of leading and going to a "war" with Argentina if the Argentinean side refuses to agree a deal over trade tariffs on Parana river

It happens just weeks after Argentinean Navy seized Paraguayan commercial tugboats on the river created a political and diplomatic crisis between the South American countries

Interestingly, it's noteworthy that a similar crisis in late 1860s over the rivers of Platina bay, ended causing the most violent and destructive conventional & lately drawn-out guerrilla war in South American history, between an alliance of ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท Argentinean Republic, the ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท Brazilian Empire and ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡พ Uruguay against Solano Lรณpez Regime in Paraguay aided by ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท Argentinean Federalists, which ended in all-out mass destruction of Paraguay, where 90% of Paraguayan male population was KIA, the Triple Alliance War

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ณ Guinean president addresses UN, defends African coups, attacks aged rulers

Col. Mamady Doumbouya, who was sworn in as Guinea's interim president following the coup in 2021, told the U.N. General Assembly that beyond condemning the coups, global leaders must also โ€œlook to and address the deep-rooted causes." โ€œThe putschist is not only the person who takes up arms to overthrow a regime,โ€ he told the gathering of world leaders in New York. โ€œI want us all to be well aware of the fact that the real putschists, the most numerous, are those who avoid any condemnation โ€” they are those โ€ฆ who cheat to manipulate the text of the constitution in order to stay in power eternally.โ€

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ณ By this critique, Doumbouya is undoubtedly referring to the pattern of decades-long rule in Africa by a single leader, or a dynasty of leaders, propped up by election fraud or constitutional amendments.

In the case of Africa's most recent coup, in 'democratic' Gabon, the Bongo family held on to power for some 56 years via various legal means.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ณ Doumbouya also rebuffed attempts by the West and other developed countries to intervene in Africaโ€™s political challenges, saying that Africans are โ€œexhausted by the categorizations with which everyone wants to box us in.โ€

โ€œWe Africans are insulted by the boxes, the categories which sometimes place us under the influence of the Americans, sometimes under that of the British, the French, the Chinese and the Turks,โ€ the Guinean leader said.

โ€œToday, the African people are more awake than ever and more than ever determined to take their destiny into their own hands."
