🇷🇴🏳️‍🌈🇪🇺 Today, the Romanian government discussed a bill recognising a same-sex marriage enacted in a EU member state which recognises such marriages.

The bill will be passed over to the Romanian Parliament for approval.

Last July when the bill was introduced by the minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, the ruling of the CJEU which interprets the refusal to grant residence permit to foreign member of the same-sex couple residing in Romania is a violation of article 21 paragraph 1 of the TFEU which stipulates that all citizens of the European Union have the right to move and freely reside in each of the member state's territory.

The assessment completed by the ministry of internal affairs warned of fines between 1.830 to 109.800 EUR daily in addition to a one time fine of 1.709.000 EURs.

🇱🇻🚫🇧🇾 Latvia has closed the second-to-last border checkpoint with Belarus this week, claiming that illegal migrants are responsible for the necessity of this action.

One must wonder what exactly illegal migrants have to do with a border checkpoint, since I think we've all seen in the past that they seem to prefer not to enter the country legally.
