🇧🇴⚠️⚖️⛓⚡️ — ILLEGAL: The justice system has decided to extend the pretrial detention of the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, who is currently held in San Pedro de Chonchocoro prison as part of investigations into an alleged coup attempt case that never materialized.
This determination follows the statement by the Public Prosecutor's Office that an additional 90 days (three months) are required due to the complexity of the investigation and the need to gather more evidence before formal charges can be filed.
🚨 Meanwhile, the governor's attorney, Martín Camacho, has labeled the extension of the preventive detention of the Santa Cruz official as "illegal and unnecessary" and has announced plans to appeal Judge Elmer Laura's decision.
Camacho is the foremost opposition leader to the socialist government in Bolivia and is detained to prevent him from running in the presidential elections.

But not many people seem terribly worried about that aspect of the Sino-American rivalry. Rather, it is mutually assured financial destruction that constrains today’s superpowers and most clearly distinguishes Cold War II from Cold War I.

🇺🇸🇨🇳US Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall called on the US to optimize forces and be prepared for armed conflict with China.
The Secretary's statement was published by Fox News.
The Secretary noted that China has been building up its military power for 20 years.
“We must be prepared for a war in which we do not yet have experience,” the US Air Force Secretary said.
“China has been developing its weapons rapidly over the past 20 years, and now they have become a major problem,” Kendall said.
The Secretary warned that if US capabilities prove insufficient “to deter Chinese aggression against Taiwan or elsewhere,” then war could break out.
