🇳🇪🇫🇷 Nigerien authorities cut off electricity, water to French Embassy
Niger’s military administration has cut off water and electricity to the French Embassy in the capital Niamey with no food deliveries allowed.
The country’s leadership has also taken similar action at the French consulate in Zinder.
The president of the National Support Committee for the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Country, Elh Issa Hassoumi Boureima, has asked all partners of French bases in Niger to suspend all water and electricity supplies and food products.
In addition, any partners who continue to help the French in the process of supplying the goods and services will be considered “enemies of the sovereign people.”

🇷🇴🟦🟨🤬🇮🇱 Liberal MP and expert in combating antisemitism, Alexandru Muraru, accused the Israeli ambassador to Romania, Reuven Azar, of "encouraging political extremism" after meeting with Muraru's nemesis, George Simion.
Muraru stated the meeting has created "an immense precedent against democracy". Muraru expressed his "shock" at how could the Israeli ambassador meet with officials from a party which praised Iron Guard members.
Muraru stated: "Mr. Azar, how would you feel if the Romanian ambassador in Tel Aviv would meet with the leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah and would shake their hands? This is what you did here, you have legitimised an extremist party with terrorist tendencies (...) you have met with a bunch of fascists and antisemites which are known throughout Romania for inciting ethnic hatred, you have ignored the official guidelines set by the Yad Vashem institute when you have contacted a party known for holocaust denial (...) I once again launch an appeal to Mr. Reuven Azar and the Israeli embassy to categorically disassociate and cut any and all ties with the extremist political faction of a neo-fascist and neo-legionary ideology which has trashed for years the Holocaust, the values of tolerance and proved for everyone that it relies on hatred and violence for political gain".

On Thursday, Iraqi delegation and representatives of the Turkmengas state concern have met in Ashgabat to discuss about of supply natural gas between both countries through Iran. "The sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation in such an important area as the fuel and energy sector. Particular attention was paid to swapping supplies of Turkmen natural gas to Iraq through the Islamic Republic of Iran,", quoted a Turkmen website.
Ibrahim Raisi, President of Iran, has pronounces in a press conference that "there are good capacities and areas in the two countries to expand cooperation beyond the current level in the fields of economy, trade, water, electricity, and gas. The agreements and memorandums of understanding signed today by the two countries have the potential to elevate bilateral cooperation to a new level.". We can note that Iran and Turkmenistan have signed a 20-year cooperation agreement on June 2022.
Since March, Iraq searches to buy a bigger amount of gas from Iranian state. The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity was even ready to sign an agreement for purchasing at least 7000 megawatts of electricity.

— "The National Bank of Poland (NBP) increased its gold reserves for the fourth consecutive month in July as the country continues to aggressively stockpile the precious metal.
According to calculations by the DGP newspaper, 720,000 ounces of gold were bought last month, valued at about $1.4 billion. This is more than in any of the previous three months. The paper estimated that the total gold reserves held by the Polish central bank have increased to 9.6 million ounces, or nearly 300 tons.
Since the beginning of the year, the NBP has increased its gold supply by 2.3 million ounces. Before starting his second term as the president of the NBP, Adam Glapiński announced that he would increase gold reserves by 100 tons. With this year’s purchases, he has already fulfilled over two-thirds of that promise."

Latgale People’s Republic – New separatist Russian region in the Baltics?
Latvian security officials are investigating a controversial map circulating on social media, which backs the NATO member being split in two.
— "For two years, schools in the eastern region of Latvia, Latgale, had the opportunity to receive additional funding from the Latvian State Forests(LVM) for elective Latgalian language classes. At the moment, this money is no longer available, so public employees are worried about the accessibility to the regional language, Latvian Radio reported on July 11.
Latvian Radio met Veronika Dundure, the Latvian language and literature teacher of Rēzekne Municipality Nautrēni High School. She is also the head of the Association of Teachers of Latgalian Language, Literature, and Cultural History.
The previous two years in Latgale schools had the support of LVM, as well as an Education and Science Ministry (IZM) project. In the previous year, 17 schools used this option, with a total of 233 pupils.
“For the first time in Latvia's free state, you could learn the Latgalian writing language in the school as part of such a project,” said the teacher.
Currently, LVM funding for Latgalian learning is no longer available. The ministry's project has also been completed."

Former Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum, who has led in most polls so far, headed to Veracruz state on the east coast, while ex-Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, another top candidate, ended his tour on Sunday with a speech at an auditorium in Mexico City.
Morena will announce its pick on Sept. 6. Whoever ends up with greater support in the nationwide survey will be designated the party’s national coordinator, since it’s too early to announce formal candidates under election rules.

The Nigerian air force says it carried out strikes on illegal oil refining sites in the Niger Delta region on Sunday.
The force said it had destroyed several illegal sites in oil-rich Rivers state and also targeted a boat that was loaded with crude oil and headed for the open waters.
Nigeria has been cracking down on oil thieves in the Niger Delta, burning crude-laden ships and small illegal refineries, but aerial bombardments are uncommon.
Most of the illegal oil refineries tend to be located in the creeks away from communities but environmentalists have condemned the continual burning of the refineries.
