🇦🇷💥💸📊 — The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) made the decision this past Monday (14) to increase the Leliq rate, which is the country's basic interest rate, by 21 percentage points, raising it from 97% to 118%.

The intention behind this measure is to absorb the excess pesos in the market, as stated by the monetary authority. Additionally, the institution set the exchange rate at 350 pesos per dollar until the elections scheduled for October. As a result of this measure, there was a devaluation of 22% of the peso against the US dollar.

The government artificially held the exchange rate before the primary elections, a clearly electoral move. After the election, they made the inevitable adjustment.

Today, at recommendation from Israel, the U.S. Department of the Treasury designated Lebanon-based Green Without Borders NGO and its leader on the sanctions list.

The NGO takes care of natural reserves in south Lebanon, in addition to planting trees and fighting deforestation.

🇱🇾 Fights in Tripoli

Monday to Tuesday, intense fights have been recorded in the Libyan capital Tripoli. More than 50 people have found death and 146 have been wounded during the combat. a fight emerged between the 444 Brigade and the Special Deterrence Force, two from many armed groups after the fall of Kaddafi. The clashes have started after SDF has detained the Colonel Mahmoud Hamza, the head of the 444 Brigade. Though, an agreement has been reached in late Tuesday between the two armed groups for Hamza to be handed to a neutral party. In a televised announcement, the council said a ceasefire would follow the transfer of the force’s commander, and late on Tuesday the fighting abated.

We can note that the two groups follow the Ddeibah's government.

The current crisis surrounding Niger's new military government has not stopped the ongoing jihadist insurgency in the country.

Earlier this week, in Sanam, Niger, a patrol of soldiers was ambushed by IS-Sahel militants. 28 soldiers were reportedly killed, two vehicles destroyed and three captured by the jihadists.

Eye-popping 70% returns — the best among dollar bonds from emerging markets this year — are attracting investors who were once cautious or avoiding the securities altogether. JPMorgan Chase & Co, Eaton Vance and PGIM Fixed Income are among those who have recommended or bought the debt, betting it will continue climbing.

“Although we missed a significant share of the rally, we still think there’s value across El Salvador’s curve,” JPMorgan research strategists Ben Ramsey, Nishant Poojary and Gorka Lalaguna wrote in a July note, moving overweight on the debt. “There’s room for this credit to keep outperforming.”

The optimism demonstrates how Bukele has gained acceptance from both money managers and his peers in Latin America after many had dismissed him as an anti-establishment maverick. His hard-line stance on gangs, which has dramatically cut crime in the country, is influencing politics throughout the region. And his commitment to paying bondholders is making him a favorite among emerging-market investors.

🚩 PCV warns that the Maduro is preparing a fraudulent congress to intervene in the party

"This new phase of the plan is geared towards holding a supposedly totally fraudulent congress of what they call the Patriotic PCV, which is nothing more than a government-controlled PCV," warned Pedro Eusse, a member of the Political Bureau.

The leader explained that this supposed congress will not be held with militants of the Communist Party of Venezuela but with "mercenaries hired by the leadership of the State, by Diosdado Cabello and other heads of the government party."
