#Sudan 🇸🇩: A new photo of a fighter of Rapid Support Forces (#RSF) with a rather interesting assault rifle.

The fighter is carrying a 7.62x39mm #Israeli 🇮🇱 IWI Galil ACE 31 carbine with Thermal/NV scope.
The rifle was very likely sourced from the military stocks in #Chad 🇹🇩.

#Sudan 🇸🇩: A new photo posted by Rapid Support Forces (#RSF) shows the fighters with a rare grenade launcher during the recent clashes.

The fighter is holding a 40mm "Defense Technology" Model 1440 Tactical 4-Shot Grenade Launcher, made in #USA    🇺🇸.

Although the definite source of the weapon is unclear, a smuggling from #Ethiopia 🇪🇹 / #Eritrea 🇪🇷 is rather possible.

⚡️🇸🇩 Facebook removed the pages of the RSF and the page of its owner, Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, also known as Hemedti.

No reason has been stated, however, we can assume that due to the sheer criminal nature of the RSF, attempts to stamp it out and its supporters, and disinformation practiced by the page to paint itself as a "victor", the page has been removed by a direct order from Meta.

That leaves Twitter as the only public space left for the RSF to express itself, which may follow suit.

This move is very rare, almost unprecedented - Meta has now involved itself in taking a side in the informational sphere of a civil war between an Armed Forces of a country and a rebelling front.

🇳🇬 Nigeria public doctors end strike after talks with lawmakers

Frontline doctors in Nigerian public hospitals on Friday ended a three-week strike to press for a pay rise, the doctors' union said.

The National Association of Resident Doctors said the decision to end the strike followed "a very fruitful meeting" with lawmakers, led by the president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, in the capital Abuja.

"From our interaction with the President of the Senate and the practical demonstration he did before us today, we are very confident that there will be light at the end of the tunnel," NARD president told.

The doctors were the first public sector workers to strike after fuel prices more than tripled and increased transport fares.

— On last August 2, 2023, Brazilian President Lula openly criticized the Group of 7 and defends Argentina, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in the BRICS group

• The statement was made during an interview with foreign correspondents, in Brasília. At the end of August, presidents of countries that form the bloc will meet in South Africa.

• According to Lula, “from the world point of view, the Brics can play an exceptional role”. In the interview, he also said that he considers that the G7, formed by the main economies of the world, has an “outdated way” of discussing politics.

🌐🇻🇪BRICS+: The Venezuelan dictatorship reaffirmed its interest in joining the New Development Bank of BRICS during a meeting between the regime's Chancellor, Yván Gil, and the advisor of the financial institution, Alessandro Teixeira.

During the meeting, which took place alongside the Amazonian Countries Summit, where leaders of eight governments are gathered in Belém, the Chancellor reiterated Venezuela's interest in joining what he described as an "important economic bloc."

The BRICS have a scheduled meeting this month in South Africa, and Venezuela will seize this opportunity to "build relationships" and seek support in its attempt to be accepted by these countries, which currently maintain governments with close affinities to the Chavista regime.

🇧🇷🤝🇦🇷🇦🇪🇸🇦📰 UOL: Lula defends the expansion of Brics, with criteria such as economic strength

• Despite the cautious position of Brazilian diplomacy with the expansion of the Brics -- a group formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa --, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated that he defends the integration of new countries, within the criteria which will be defined at the summit at the end of this month.

• Brazilian diplomacy, as Reuters showed, is reticent in relation to the expansion. There is a fear of losing relative space in the bloc and that the Brics will end up being used as a force against the G7, which is not a traditional position of Brazil, more conciliatory.

• Sources heard by Reuters admit, however, that it is a minority position (within Brazilian diplomacy) and that Brazil will negotiate, as is its tradition, to try criteria that take into account the Brazilian concern. Among them, the defense of global governance reform and regional parity criteria.

• In defending the expansion, Lula said he wanted a strong bloc, with a strong bank, that could "help the countries".

• Noteworthy that Brazil also participated in the last G7 meeting, in Japan, as a guest country, and is a member of the G20, a group in which discussions have been prioritized, as well as in the Brics.

🇧🇷🇺🇳🗳📰 G1 (May 20, 2023): In G7 session, Lula defends UN Security Council reform and criticizes 'antagonistic blocs'

— During the G7 Session back in May 2023, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva spoke at a working session of the G7, in Hiroshima, Japan. During his speech, the Brazilian President criticized the formation of "antagonistic blocs" and defended the reform of the Council of UN security.

• Lula participated in the meeting called "Working Together to Face Multiple Crises". During the speech, the president recalled that this is the seventh time he has been invited to the G7 meeting, which brings together the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Canada.

• "The World Trade Organization remains paralyzed. Nobody remembers the Development Round. The challenges accumulated and got worse. With each threat we fail to face, we generate new urgencies," he said.

• Lula took the opportunity to defend a reform of the UN Security Council, with the accession of new permanent members.

• Interestingly, such a position in favor of a UN Security Council reform was pursued by his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, with support from the United Kingdom and Russia.
