🇳🇬 Biafran separatists clash with Nigerian forces, 5 soldiers and 2 policemen injured

Nigerian army and police forces raided a training camp run by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) separatist group in Anambra and Imo states yesterday, arresting militants and seizing weapons.

Nigerian forces were wounded by IEDs, and apparently a locally-manufactured mortar weapon.

Military sources claim that the militants who escaped arrest fled into the bush, some suffering gunshot wounds.

Brazil wants to avoid expansion partly due to concerns about unilateralism, while India seeks strict rules on how and when other nations can approach the group, without formally expanding the bloc. Any decision will require consensus among the members who will meet from August 22 to 24.

India and Brazil aim to use the summit to discuss the possibility of bringing in other countries as observers, according to the officials. South Africa supports discussing different membership options to accommodate this, but does not necessarily oppose expansion, said the secret report.

Argentina seized a Paraguayan flag tugboat for the debt of tolls in the Paraná river

A Brazilian company that operates in Bolivia and Paraguay refuses to pay the toll on the Waterway and the debt came to court in Rosario.

Argentina claims this is a political maneuver to put into discussion the toll on the river that was recently imposed on all foreign vessels transiting through the Argentine territory.

The Rosario court ordered the Interdiction of Navigation to the tugboats HB Phoenix carrying the Bolivian flag and HB Grus carrying the Paraguayan flag, loaded with merchandise of Brazilian origin and, both ships belonging to the Capital shipping company Hidrovías do Brasil (HB), in the port of San Lorenzo, Province of Santa Fe, Argentina, until the cancellation of the debt for payment of tolls imposed by the General Administration of Ports.
