π΅π¦π₯π β The Panama Canal reduces daily ship transits due to a severe drought
Amid a strong drought, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has decided to limit the transit through the waterway to 32 vessels per day, according to an official statement.
It is reported that the number of allowed vessels may be adjusted depending on the water level in Lake Gatun and weather forecasts, among other conditions.
"It is important to consider that reducing the number of daily transits for an extended period will inevitably increase waiting times for some vessels, particularly those without a reservation," the Authority stated.

The Joe Biden administration today sent two notifications to Congress about two proposals for the sale of defense equipment for Argentina, F-16 fighter planes from Denmark and P3-C from Norway, it would be financed by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency, it's worth noting that both planes have hardware from the UK which would fall under the defense sanctions the UK has on Argentina.

π¦π· Argentina won't use 'one dollar' of reserves to repay IMF, says Massa
Argentina's Economy Minister Sergio Massa said on Monday the country will not use "a single dollar" of its own reserves to make a $2.7 billion repayment to the International Monetary Fund due this week.
Massa, who is also a presidential candidate in this October's election, said in a speech that it would be possible because of an extended swap deal with China and a new loan from the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF).
Massa confirmed the repayment will be made with a $1 billion bridge loan from CAF and $1.7 billion coming from the second tranche of a swap with China, a move Buenos Aires recently made to complete part of its June payment to the IMF.
Argentina needed to avoid a default with the Fund, with maturities of $2.6 billion due on Monday and almost $800 million due on Tuesday.
π£ "I want to bring you peace of mind - Argentina is not going to use a single dollar of its reserves to pay today's maturity," Massa said in a televised speech.
(Paying off old debts with new loans - where does this lead?)
