5,000 barrels (more than 800,000 liters) of whiskey poured onto the streets of Dublin, blazing with fire. Thirteen people died in the fire, but they did not burn or suffocate in the smoke. They died from the large amount of «free» whiskey they drank.

The dog would find abandoned or stray cats in pipes, trash cans, and boxes. Ginny quickly became popular in the area, and owner Phillip Gonzalez established a cat fund named after her, where residents brought stray animals themselves.
In all, more than 900 cats were saved thanks to Ginny and her foundation, and in 1998 the Westchester Felinology Club named her "Cat of the Year.
