Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri Note and the Name of the Messiah

What was special about Rabbi Kaduri? There is indeed a sensational statement that made him world famous. For he of all people, an orthodox Jew and Kabbalist, gave the people of Israel the name of the Messiah = Yehoshua (or Yahoshua). This name is equivalent to the Hebrew short form Yeshua (or Yahshua) and the Greek Iesous (=Ιησους = Jesus). Absolutely nobody expected that one of Israel's most famous rabbis would make such a statement. How did it come about? In the last years of his life, Kaduri was very interested in the identity of Messiah and prayed to God for understanding. In 2005, he claimed that the Messiah appeared to him in a vision, told him his name and that he would come soon. We know a similar event from the Bible, namely the conversion of Paul when Jesus appeared to him and asked "why are you persecuting me?" (Acts 9).
