BeamNG Mod Manager 🧡 v0.5.9: Honest space‑saved numbers, real folder combining & a branded installer!
A proper follow‑up to last update's Space Saved dashboard — this one makes those numbers honest and actually reclaims the space they're talking about. Plus a clearer Resolve tool and a freshly branded installer. 🎉
💾 Honest Space Saved numbers I want that "saved" number to mean something real, so I tightened up exactly what it counts. It now only tallies disk you genuinely get back: copies removed when combining your BeamNG and BeamMP folders into one library, and duplicates you clean with the Resolve tool. Simply activating a mod no longer pads the number — hardlinking uses no extra disk, so calling that a "saving" was a little dishonest. Now every byte on that dashboard is the real deal.
🗂 Importing now truly combines your folders This is the big one. When you import from your game or BeamMP folders, any .zip that's byte‑for‑byte identical to one already in your Mod Storage gets folded in instead of left behind as a redundant copy — and that reclaimed space is tallied. No more collecting "‑ Dup" copies of mods you already had. One clean library, less wasted disk.
🔍 More Clarity & True(r) counts
Bug showing mods that had the placeholder date of "Dec 31, 1969" are ignored, so mod ages actually make sense. lolol.
The Conflicts count in the sidebar, and top bar now matches the number of mods on the Conflicts page exactly — no more "why does it say 5 when I see 3?"
Rescan reports its progress more reliably, even when it's only adding new files.
✨ Polish & a new look
A clear loading spinner in the image picker while shots load.
Tidier, centered Space Saved cards and a wired‑up Wall of Supporters.
One heads‑up: This update improves how mods are read, so you'll likely see a "Needs Rescan" prompt — give it a quick rescan and everything freshens right up.
Version v0.59 is actually deprecated already. I had a big idea and decided to just build 0.60 right after finishing 0.59 but already did this write up. lolol. 😆
v0.60 is attached.

BeamNG Mod Manager 🧡 v0.6.0: Connect with Patreon — UNLOCK instantly, no more license keys! 👀
THIS IS A BIG ONE. 🎉
I've been working on this working on this in the background for days. Unlocking your supporter perks is now effortless: connect your Patreon account once and BMM unlocks your tier instantly and keeps track of it forever. No more license keys to copy, paste, or keep track of.
This has honestly been the last big blocker for the whole app and it feels so good to finally have it figured out. I have a many new features, changes, and QOL fixes that I can now focus more on! 😁
🧡 New: Connect with Patreon Open Go Premium and you'll spot a shiny new "Connect with Patreon" button. Click it, sign in on Patreon, and that's it — if you're a Player or Supporter, your perks light up the moment you land back in the app. No more codes!
INSTANT UNLOCK IS HERE — your live Patreon membership is the key now. Pledge → unlock. It's that direct and easy.
Always in sync — BMM quietly re‑checks your membership when it starts up, so your tier just stays correct. Upgrade your pledge, and the app upgrades right along with you.
Works offline — once you're connected, BMM keeps your perks for up to 14 days without needing an internet check, so a flight or a flaky connection never locks you out of BMM.
🔒 Private and simple
The sign‑in goes through Patreon's official login — your Patreon password never touches BMM, and the app only ever asks to see your membership status. Manage it all from the same Go Premium screen: see the account you're connected as, Re‑check your membership on demand, or disconnect/change accounts anytime.
✨ Under the hood This quietly retired the old manual license‑key system from end to end and replaced it with the connect flow above — less for you to fuss with, and less for me to hand out one at a time. 🙂
No rescan needed this time — just update, hit Connect, and you are all set!
Thank you, as always, for making this whole thing possible. Genuinely couldn't do it without you.
More coming soon!

BeamNG Mod Manager 🧡 v0.6.2: Truly smart Duplicate cleanup, Fixed "Space Saving" import bugs & and now you can add/edit any mod's Author!
A big quality-of-life update this time! I’ve managed to include a handful of things that you've asked for on the feedback link; all aimed at keeping your library tidy and your disk happy. 🎉
🧹 Truly Smart Duplicate Cleanup
The Resolve tool now points at the right copy to KEEP — your clean original — instead of accidentally highlighting a "- Dup" or re-downloaded copy. Clearing out duplicates is finally as obvious as it should be. This one was a hard one, trying to train the algorithm to know what mods were truly duplicates, was really tough. lolol. 😂
📀 Imports that actually save space
Dragging mods in (or using "Add mods") now MOVES them into your library instead of leaving a second copy behind — so importing genuinely frees up disk, and you stop collecting stray copies. And it's careful: BMM never moves a mod it's already managing and never touches your game folder while BeamNG is running. I kept running into issues with mods remaining at in their source folder but now it finally should work 100% of the time. 🤞
✏️ Edit a Mod's Author + Richer Details
Got a mod that shipped without an author? Add it yourself — there's a new editable Author field with type-ahead from authors you already have. Mod details now show more at a glance, too: file, size, date added, rating, downloads and more, ordered most-useful first.
⚙️ Handy Settings Additions
A Space Saved summary now lives at the bottom of Settings so you can see exactly how much disk you've reclaimed — plus a new "Import from BeamNG" button right alongside the BeamMP one.
🔄 A living Wall of Supporters
This one's for you: the Wall of Supporters now updates itself straight from Patreon. Become a supporter and your name appears on the wall automatically — no waiting, nothing for me to add by hand. (Set a Patreon alias if you'd like that shown instead of your first name)
No rescan needed this time — just update and you're good to go.
Thank you, as always, for making this whole thing possible. Every one of these updates exists because of your support. 🧡

BeamNG Mod Manager 🧡 v0.6.3: Foundation Hardening: Security fixes & Safer Deletes
Released July 1, 2026
Hey everyone! 👋 This one was all about making BMM sturdier under the hood. It’s a “sleep-better-at-night” release — a big pass of security tightening, plus a bunch of fixes that make the app more careful with your files and more honest about what it’s doing. Here’s the rundown:
🔒 Security, top to bottom
We did a full hardening sweep across the whole app: thumbnails are now served through a much stricter path check, the app window runs fully sandboxed, unexpected pop-ups and navigation are blocked, BMM will only ever open folders it actually manages, and the shipped app runs under a tighter content-security policy. You won’t see any of this day to day — that’s the point. It just quietly closes doors.
🛟 Safer, smarter deletes
- Locked files no longer get lost — if you try to delete a mod whose .zip is open in another program, BMM now tells you the file is in use and keeps the mod safely in your library — custom thumbnail and all — instead of quietly losing track of it.
- Your last copy is protected — "Import From Game/BeamMP" will never remove a copy of a mod whose Mod Storage original has gone missing. If it’s the only copy you have left, we leave it exactly where it is.
- Bulk deletes report the truth — deleting several mods at once now tells you exactly how many were removed — and flags any file that couldn’t be.
📊 Honest counters
- Space Saved stays honest in more corners — a cross-drive combine that has to write a copy back no longer counts as a saving, and neither does a delete that didn’t actually happen.
- Conflicts & Duplicates counts always match the page — even while a search or author filter is active, the number in the sidebar equals what you actually see.
✨ Little things
Small polish — the “also delete file” checkbox resets when you switch mods, and the Wall of Supporters now handles two patrons who share a display name.
Thanks as always for keeping BMM going — this kind of foundation work is exactly what your support allows me to do.

v0.6.4 — New Core Engine: Security & Performance
Released July 1, 2026
A quick but important one. 🛠️ We updated the app’s core engine and build tooling to the latest versions.
Why it matters: this clears a batch of known security advisories in the old engine and picks up performance and stability improvements across the board. Nothing about how the app works changes — your library, Load-outs, settings, and Patreon connection all carry over completely untouched. Just update and keep going.
Short changelog, but a healthy app underneath. More visible goodies coming right up. 😄

BeamNG Mod Manager 🧡 v0.6.5: Self-Healing Load-outs, Better Image Browsing & Honest Savings
Now we’re getting back into the fun stuff. 🎉 This release has one genuinely magic feature (self-healing Load-outs), a much nicer image browsing experience, and a couple of things that make the app clearer and more honest. Let’s dig in:
🩹 Load-outs that heal themselves
This is the headliner. Your Load-outs now survive a full library rebuild — members are re-matched by their actual content, not by an internal ID. So, you can delete a mod and re-import it later, or even move and re-import your entire library, and your Load-outs pick it right back up instead of showing 0. It just works quietly in the background. 😁
🖼 Nicer image browsing
- Full gallery controls — the enlarged image view now has previous/next arrows with wrap-around and a clean “3 / 7” counter.
- Keyboard friendly — use ← / → to flip through images and Esc to close.
- A calmer details drawer — the expanded mod-details panel no longer stretches across the whole window (or distorts its header image) — it opens to a comfortable reading width instead.
👑 Supporters & polish
The Wall of BMM Supporters now features our real founding members — MaKayla, BORCS and elkcustoms. Thank you! 🧡, and the membership screen got a wording polish, including a cleaner Patreon connection status.
📈 New: Optional anonymous usage stats (OFF by default)
You can now opt in — during onboarding or in Settings → Privacy — to let BMM count which features get used, purely to help guide where development goes next. To be crystal clear about what this is and isn’t: it’s feature counts only, never file names, folders, mod names, or anything personal. It’s off unless you turn it on and turning it off anytime also deletes your anonymous ID. Control is yours, but the bits it allows help me make BMM as magical as possible for you. :)
Self-healing Load-outs was a much-requested update — thank you to everyone who flagged it! Keep the feedback coming! 🙌

BeamNG Mod Manager 🧡 v0.6.6: Reliable Imports, No More “Duplicate” Clutter & App close bug fixed
BMM v0.6.6
Released July 3, 2026
This is a big quality-of-life release, and it fixes one of the most annoying things people have run into. 🧹 If you’ve ever ended up with a pile of “- Dup” copies after a reinstall, this one’s for you.
🎯 The big fix: no more phantom duplicates
Bringing in mods you already had no longer creates confusing “ - Dup” copies. When BMM finds mods already sitting in your Mod Storage folder — after a reinstall, a reset, or when you point BMM at an existing library — it now recognizes them and reconnects your active set instead of making duplicates. Importing from your game folder simply says “Reconnected N mods,” and nothing gets moved or copied. Clean and instant.
🤝 Honest imports you’re in control of
- Everything comes in, clearly labelled — drag-and-drop and “Add Mods” bring everything into your library — and if something really is a duplicate of a mod you already have, it’s imported too and flagged for you to review in the Duplicates tool.
- BMM never deletes your files on its own — you stay in the driver’s seat; the import summary tells you exactly what happened instead of a misleading “unreadable.”
- Even more honest Space Saved — deleting a duplicate that was only a hard link (sharing its data with another copy) no longer counts as reclaimed disk — because nothing was actually freed.
🚪 A clean exit
We squashed a sneaky bug where the app could keep running invisibly in the background (holding onto your data folder) and opening it again would silently start a second hidden copy. BMM is now single-instance again. lol
- Launch it again and it brings your existing window to the front
- A window that fails to appear now shows itself within a few seconds
- A shutdown safety net guarantees the process actually exits when you close it
There’s also a tiny local troubleshooting log that records each launch and exit, just in case anything ever recurs — it stays on your machine and is never sent anywhere.
💡 Clearer onboarding
Onboarding now explains up front that a mod showing in both your game folder and Mod Storage is the same single file in two places (a hard link) — not a wasteful second copy. Felt like one of those things that’s obvious once someone tells you, so I wanted the app to tell you. lol. 😅

BeamNG Mod Manager 🧡v0.6.7: Clearer Duplicates, a Sharper Resolve Tool & Pop-ups That Fit Your Screen
BMM v0.6.7
Released July 4th, 2026
Hey everyone! 👋 This one's got another round of polish that makes BMM feel nicer to use every single day — clearer duplicates, a much smoother Resolve tool, and a handful of "ahh, that's better" touches all over. Let's get into it:
🏷️ Duplicates you can actually understand
When a mod you add collides with one you already have, the copy is now named "– IMPORTED DUPLICATE" instead of the cryptic "– Dup 1". No more guessing — it's obvious what happened and exactly which file to review under Duplicates.
🧹 The Resolve tool got a big cleanup (see "duplicate" screenshot above)
This is the star of the release:
- No more scrolling to find the buttons — each card shows its stats in two tidy columns, so Delete and Keep are always right there.
- "Keep Only This" only shows when it's useful — with 3+ copies. With just a pair it was the same as Delete, so it's gone from that view.
- The larger centered pop-up after each decision is gone — the little corner notification is plenty, and it's no longer in the way when you're making your next choice.
- Honest confirmations — Resolve only announces a mod is "no longer a duplicate" when the delete actually succeeded.
💾 Space Saved tells one honest story
The pop-up now shows the two numbers that matter — duplicates removed and your library size — and the Settings breakdown always adds up. Import screens no longer promise savings up front (they appear as you clean up duplicates you discover). New tip in Settings too: a free tool like WizTree can hunt down stray mod .zip files anywhere on your disk. 🔍
✨ Easier on the eyes (and the mouse)
- The window controls (minimize / maximize / close) are about 25% larger — easier to click.
- Every scrollbar now matches your theme color, like the image carousel's slick accent bar.
- Pop-ups auto-fit smaller screens — onboarding no longer needs scrolling.
🎮 A few more goodies
- BeamMP now shows its launcher version in the top-left (e.g. "BeamMP 2.8.0") and in Settings, just like BeamNG always has.
- New Enable button pops up next to Delete when you select mods — enable a whole selection in one click. ⚡
- Clearer wording throughout ("Import mods from BeamNG / BeamMP", a plainer note on Always Copy option in the settings) and connecting a Patreon account that isn't subscribed now says exactly that — with a link to join — instead of a scary "Connection failed."
- Thanks as always for keeping BMM going — this kind of foundation work is exactly what your support allows me to do.
