Revision in diesel price variation mechanism for mining service contracts with Coal India Limited subsidiaries:
- Compensation basis changed from retail pump price to bulk diesel price including transportation costs
- 100% of diesel price increase over the tender-assumed price will be compensated
- Diesel quantity for compensation will be based on standard consumption norms for work done instead of a fixed formula
- Revised method applies retrospectively from 20 March 2026
- Fortnightly payments up to 75% of work value will continue with final settlement in monthly bills
- Mechanism applies to contracts with Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL)
