• MDL clarified that it is not proceeding with the Thoothukudi greenfield shipyard project.
• MDL had earlier explored the project, but it was not pursued after the Tamil Nadu JV selected another shipyard as Anchor Shipyard for the proposed Thoothukudi cluster.
• MDL is currently focused on proposed Greenfield Shipbuilding Industrial Clusters at Dighi, Maharashtra and Dugarajapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
• MDL has been selected as the Anchor Shipyard for both proposed clusters under Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision (MAKV) 2047.
