BSE, BROKING STOCKS : SEBI TO REVIEW DERIVATIVES SETTLEMENT PRICE METHODOLOGY (CAS) π’
β’ SEBI will review the methodology used to determine settlement prices of derivative contracts on expiry.
β’ Currently, the closing price determined through the Closing Auction Session (CAS) in the cash market is also used for derivative settlement on expiry.
β’ SEBI received significant feedback from exchanges, brokers, proprietary traders, mutual funds, FPIs and other market participants after CAS implementation.
β’ Regulator may propose changes to the derivatives settlement-price methodology based on initial implementation experience and stakeholder feedback.
β’ SEBI plans to issue a consultation paper on the proposed changes in about a week.
Impact: Mild Positive for BSE & Broking Stocks (Review could address operational concerns around expiry settlement and improve market functioning, though final changes are yet to be announced)
