On Monday, May 20, 2024, at
14:50 (NPT), I became the first Kurd and Iraqi to successfully summit Mount Everest. My expedition began on April 2, 2024, and ended on May 22, 2024. Having never climbed a mountain before, Everest was my first. My goal was to highlight the issue of financial education in disadvantaged countries. Therefore, I took the flags of Kurdistan and Bitcoin to the summit.
During the 50-day expedition, I faced extreme weather, nearly lost my fingers to frostbite, and had several near-death experiences. I am grateful to have achieved my goal and hope it brings more attention to financial education in disadvantaged regions. A special thanks to my Sherpas, Lhakpa and Tilen, who saved my life multiple times.
Without them, this achievement wouldn't have been possible. Together, we made history.
