🔴 NEAR Intents suspended services after a vulnerability in its Omni deposit/withdrawal system caused losses of around $3.8 million. $NEAR fell about 6%.
🖤 The issue involved the interaction between Omni’s deposit/withdrawal infrastructure and the NEAR Intents smart contract
🖤 Most of the funds were drained on BNB Chain, including around 3.87 million USDT
🖤 ZachXBT: the funds were moved through KuCoin and then bridged into BTC
🖤 The team says the contract-side issue has been patched and has committed to fully reimburse affected users
🖤 Deposits and withdrawals across 11 networks — including BSC, Polygon, TON, Optimism, and Avalanche — remain temporarily suspended for roughly another 12 hours


The incident affected Intents, not the NEAR blockchain itself. The token was still sold off before reimbursements reached users.

🏙 Alex Shevchenko, GM of NEAR Intents, said the team has identified the person behind the roughly $3.8 million theft and is demanding the funds be returned within 48 hours under a “responsible disclosure” framework.
🟣 Refund addresses on BTC, BNB, and SOL have been publicly shared
🟣 The window closes after 48 hours, after which the case moves into tracing and legal enforcement
🟣 ZachXBT previously tracked the funds through KuCoin and then into BTC
🟣 The project still says affected users will be fully reimbursed
🟣 There are rumors of Lazarus Group involvement, but nothing has been officially confirmed

The ultimatum adds pressure, but it does not mean the money has been recovered. If the refund wallets are still empty after 48 hours, the chances of recovering the funds on-chain remain low. 😄😄😄

🔈 Illinois has agreed to delay its 0.2% digital asset tax by six months, from Jan. 1 to July 1, 2027, subject to court approval. The lawsuit challenging the tax’s legality will continue.

🤩 The U.S. September jobs report, released last night, came in much weaker than expected, pushing the probability of a Fed rate hike at the October meeting to very low levels.
📈 Market reaction:
🟡 The probability of an October Fed rate hike dropped sharply to around 16–17%, from roughly 25–28% before the report
🟡 Markets are now leaning toward the Fed holding rates unchanged at the Oct. 27–28 meeting
🟡 Treasury yields and the U.S. dollar came under downward pressure as expectations for further tightening eased


The labor market is cooling, but it has not broken down. The Fed could still keep the door open to a December rate hike if inflation fails to cool.

🚨 NFP IS DONE — THEN OIL REVERSES THE ENTIRE MARKET

🔴 Just about an hour later, oil rebounded nearly 4%, pushing U.S. Treasury yields back up and triggering a broad market reversal.

📉 The reversal:
🛢 Oil bounced sharply after a deep drop, reviving inflation concerns.
💸 U.S. Treasury yields climbed again after briefly cooling.
📈 U.S. stocks gave back nearly all of their early-session gains.
🟢 Gold and Bitcoin also cooled as yields and the U.S. dollar became less weak.

Markets quickly shifted from “the Fed will hold rates” to concerns that rising oil prices could reignite inflation. One hour was enough to erase most of the initial NFP reaction.
