🔷 Tom Lee’s Bitmine Continues Accumulating ETH and Accelerates Share Buybacks

🟣 Over the past week, Bitmine (BMNR) purchased an additional 9,946 ETH, worth approximately $19.4 million.

🔥🔥🔥 Iran Is Determined to Keep Oil Prices Elevated

🚨 Oil’s downward momentum came to a halt as tensions in the Middle East escalated again this morning.

🇮🇷 Iran launched ballistic missiles targeting U.S. forces in the Middle East. CENTCOM confirmed that the missiles were intercepted.
→ WTI jumped more than 3.5% to around $82 per barrel, while Brent posted a similarly strong increase.

🔴 Strait of Hormuz: Iran rejected a proposal to split control of the strait with Oman. Tehran is demanding one shipping lane under full Iranian control, along with partial control of the remaining lane, and has threatened to keep the strait closed if Oman does not agree.

📈 U.S. stocks remained mixed:
🟡 Most stocks traded higher, supported by strong earnings reports and the previous session’s decline in oil prices. However, semiconductor stocks fell for a fourth consecutive session amid concerns over AI-related costs, high valuations, and growing competition from China.

💰 Bitcoin: After briefly falling to the $62K region last night, Bitcoin rebounded this morning to around $63.8K–$64K.

📈 The market is now waiting for the next moves from both Iran and the United States.

🌎 CZ Proposes an “ASEAN Crypto License Passport”

🟣 At the ASEAN Tech Summit Manila 2026, CZ expressed support for a crypto license passporting mechanism.
🟣 A company already licensed in one ASEAN country, such as Singapore or Vietnam, could apply to operate in another country through a simplified process instead of restarting the entire application from scratch.
🟣 The host country would still retain the right to conduct reviews and impose additional local requirements.

🖤 Benefits, according to CZ:

🖤 Lower compliance costs and faster regional expansion for businesses
🖤 Greater competition, allowing users to benefit from better fees and services

📌 The biggest challenges:

🏙The Fed has just announced its latest decision from the FOMC meeting:

🟢Kept interest rates unchanged within the 3.50%–3.75% range → This marks the fifth consecutive meeting in which the Fed has left rates unchanged, in line with market expectations.
🟢The vote was split 9–3.
🖤 The three dissenting votes came from regional Fed Presidents Beth Hammack (Cleveland), Neel Kashkari (Minneapolis), and Lorie Logan (Dallas).
🖤 All three favored an immediate 0.25% rate hike at this meeting.
→ This is the first time since 2016 that three officials have dissented in the same direction, calling for tighter monetary policy.
🟢Economic assessment: Economic activity continues to expand at a solid pace despite ongoing uncertainty, mainly stemming from the Middle East conflict. Productivity and capital investment remain strong, while job growth continues to keep pace with labor-force growth.
🟢On inflation: Inflation remains above the Fed’s target. The Fed reaffirmed its commitment to bringing inflation back to 2% and stated that it will “deliver price stability.”

➡️ The Fed chose to “hold,” but internal divisions have become increasingly clear, with a more hawkish tilt emerging.

📈 The market is now awaiting further economic data to predict the Fed’s next move.

🇺🇸 U.S. Sanctions Iran-Linked Network Accused of Receiving Bitcoin to Evade Sanctions

Ⓜ️ The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has announced new sanctions targeting a network linked to the Strait of Hormuz.
🔴 Two main entities sanctioned:

🖤 Persian Gulf Marine Insurance Company
🖤 HormuzSafe Marine Services Authority
According to the United States, the two entities are part of an IRGC-backed network that forces commercial vessels to purchase mandatory “insurance” in order to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. They allegedly accepted payments in Bitcoin and other digital assets to bypass the traditional financial system and evade sanctions.

🔴 Eight additional Iranian oil tankers and their owning companies were also added to the sanctions list. These vessels are reportedly part of Iran’s “shadow fleet,” which conceals vessel identities and shipping routes to transport Iranian crude oil abroad.

The United States said the network represents an Iranian effort to generate revenue from its control of the strategic strait and fund the IRGC.

🇰🇷 South Korea Considers Reimposing Short-Selling Ban

🔈 The Korea Exchange (KRX) is assessing whether it is technically feasible to temporarily suspend short selling and tighten daily price limits. This is only a contingency measure for extreme market conditions, and no official decision has been made.

📉 Recent market developments:

🖤 On July 28, the KOSPI plunged nearly 11%, breaking below a three-month low, with almost 96% of listed stocks closing in the red.
🖤 Foreign investors sold heavily, while retail investors — often referred to as “oppa” traders — stepped in to buy the dip.
🖤 Since mid-July, the KOSPI has fallen by an additional approximately 18%.

🔴 Severe losses:

🖤 By July 13, an estimated 320,000–360,000 accounts had been fully liquidated, equivalent to roughly 3.4% of South Korea’s adult population.
🖤 According to The Kobeissi Letter, the total number of liquidated accounts has now surpassed 500,000.

📌 South Korea only resumed short selling on March 31, 2025, after a 17-month ban. On the first trading session after the ban was lifted, foreign investors accounted for as much as 90% of the total short-selling value across the market.

📈 Market conditions remain extremely tense, with investors closely watching the regulator’s next move.
