This was Kevin Warsh’s first FOMC press conference as Fed Chair, and the market quickly picked up one thing:

The Fed is not as “soft” as previously expected.

⚪️ Inflation remains above the 2% target
⚪️ The Fed mentioned risks from energy prices and Middle East tensions
🔴 Most notably, 9/19 Fed officials now see a possible rate hike in 2026

In other words:

Not hiking rates right now does not mean the Fed is about to cut.

The market had previously expected the Fed to gradually pave the way for a rate-cut cycle, but this time the message leaned more toward:

keeping rates higher for longer, and not ruling out another hike if inflation remains sticky.

🖤 For crypto, this is not exactly a beautiful signal in the short term.
Liquidity has not been eased yet, the USD may remain strong, and risk assets will have to wait for upcoming inflation and jobs data.

Leopold Aschenbrenner, a former OpenAI researcher and the man behind Situational Awareness LP, has just caught the market’s attention after the latest 13F filing showed that his fund is holding about $8.46B in put options targeting AI chip and semiconductor stocks.

Notable positions:

On-chain detective ZachXBT has issued a warning to the community about the centralized exchange AscendEX (formerly Bitmax).

Details:
🟢 Multiple users have reported that withdrawal requests are being delayed for many days to several weeks, and in some cases, not processed at all.
🟢 After checking the exchange’s hot wallets on Arkham and TRM Labs, ZachXBT found a significant shortage of major tokens such as $ETH, $USDT, $SOL...
🟢 This suggests the platform may be facing liquidity problems.

About AscendEX:
🟣 Founded in 2018 by George (Jing) Cao and Ariel Ling.
🟣 In December 2021, the exchange was hacked by the Lazarus Group, with estimated losses of around $78 million.
