UK Supermarkets introduce RATIONING after shortage of store cupboard staple
Supermarkets are set to introduce new rationing after tinned tomato suppliers revealed they were running low on the item.
After three years of poor harvests, tinned tomato suppliers have imposed limits on the amount each supermarket receives.
This is to avoid running out of stock before the next harvest begins in August.
Director at Conserve Italia, Diego Pariotti, said: “We are basically out of stock on every single line because for the last three years we didn’t have enough to satisfy demand.”
Currently, Italy supplies more than three quarters of the UK’s tomatoes.
As a consequence, Britons may not be able to get their hands on tinned tomatoes this summer.
These shortages have also led to an increase of 20 percent on prices..

Fill any water storage tanks, buckets, kids pools, bathtubs (water bobs are great 👍🏻) for the family, pets and garden. Think outside the box, but with hot temps- you’ll need the extra water!!!
Food. Do you have storable foods & means to cook them if the power goes out? Fill up bbq tanks, stock up on charcoal. If you smoke meat, maybe smoke the stuff you have in the freezer now!
Fill up on gas in your car and any spare tanks you have.
Get cash out of the bank.
Do you have extra pet food?
Run through the basics in your head. Only you can really prepare for your situation.

Something to consider that a friend of mine just brought to my attention~ a car battery! They have about a 4 year shelf life. Something to consider as supplies become more scarce and more expensive. A good car battery can also be used to charge other things if you have some of the electrical know how to turn it into an inverter!!! This is NOT my fortay, but my partner knows this kindof stuff! If you have an extra car battery, you can take it to someone’s house with a generator and charge it, bringing it home to then charge your stuff!
