So this was quite the wake up call for everyone this past week wasn’t it? So many millions of people faced first hand a pretty bad situation and hopefully realized the need to become prepared, at least to some level. Alternate heat options, solar battery chargers, solar lighting, batteries/candles, portable camp stove for cooking & gas lamps (pretty inexpensive at WalMart but does the trick), water purification of some kind, on-hand dehydrated or easy to cook foods (backpacking meals are a great place to start).
