'The legacy of Qumran'

Not too much is known of the Essenes, who existed around the time of John the Baptist and Christ because of the unusual mysteries surrounding their lives, and the codes of separation they undertook. Departing from society, and distancing themselves from the corruption and religious politics in Jerusalem resisting also the influence of the Roman empire, they moved into the desert of Judea to dedicate themselves unto the work of transcribing, interpreting and preserving the scriptures, recopying and writing commentaries of the books of the prophet's from the Old testament. ..in the process, they also influenced the life of John the Baptist, who had and preached similar Prophetic revelation to what the Essenes declared, as he prepared the way for the Messiah himself.

Without an army or Wealth or Palaces, even with their uncanny and uncelebrated existence they withstood the powers of the day, prepared and preserved authentic scripture scrolls in their caves for over two thousand years; only for those scripture scrolls to be discovered as the nation of Israel was reborn after two thousand years while Jerusalem and the temple and scripture books were destroyed.
The scrolls were rediscovered at a time in which the authenticity of the bible was being disputed and disparaged, to put down all attacks, and disputes as the scripture scrolls written by the Essenes suddenly resurfaced after two thousand years confirming the reality of the scriptures and shocking the modern world to attention at just the time Israel came back into existence as a nation, as if the Essenes knew or had orchestrated it ahead of time!
..for all their mystique and uncanny revelations, the Essenes managed to be used by God to preserve the holy scriptures, confirming its authenticity and bequeathing to Israel, Christians and the whole world, the 'Legacy of Qumran': The Dead Sea Scrolls.
