✨A new week brings new records to the crypto market - but in the worst possible way.

✨The long-awaited “Uptober” rally ended abruptly as U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of renewed tariff tensions with China triggered a massive sell-off. Within just 24 hours, over $19.2B in derivatives positions were liquidated, surpassing all previous records and even exceeding the crashes of COVID-2020, LUNA-2022, FTX-2022, and the March 2024 liquidation event.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization decreased by ~$303B (from ~$4208B to ~$3905B).

✨BTC Calms at $112K
✅The week started strong for BTC bulls, with the cryptocurrency soaring to two consecutive all-time highs last Sunday and Monday, peaking just above $126K. Afterward, BTC entered a mild correction, stabilizing around $122K.

✅However, things took a sharp turn on Friday evening when U.S. President Donald Trump announced a new wave of tariffs against China. Within just a few hours, Bitcoin’s price plunged from $122K to $101K across several exchanges.

✅This triggered a massive liquidation cascade: the largest single day on record, wiping out more than $19B in positions, according to CoinGlass. BTC briefly rebounded above $114K as shorts were flushed out, which ironically fueled even more liquidations. As of the time of writing, BTC is hovering around $112K.

1️⃣ Paxos / PYUSD (2025): ~$300 Trillion Mint
In October 2025, Paxos accidentally minted ~300 trillion PYUSD (PayPal USD) due to an internal error.
The tokens were quickly burned, but the event set a new record as the largest accidental mint in crypto history.

2️⃣ Bitcoin’s Overflow Bug (2010): 184 Billion BTC
One of the earliest - and most infamous - bugs in Bitcoin’s history.
A coding overflow created 184.4 billion BTC in a single block.
⭐️ Satoshi Nakamoto himself patched it via a hard fork, restoring normal supply.

3️⃣ Tether / USDT (2019): $5 Billion Mint Error
Tether accidentally minted 5 billion USDT while transferring tokens between blockchains (Omni → Tron).

4️⃣ Binance / BETH (2023): $14.47 Billion Mis-Mint
