✨The second week of August 2025 saw the crypto market rebound after an early-month correction that cooled July’s overheated rally. Ethereum is at the forefront of this recovery, jumping to the $4,300 range - its highest level since December 2021.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization increased by ~$278B (from ~$3708B to ~$3986B).

✨BTC Hits August High
✅August didn’t start on the right foot for the BTC, which slid to a multi-week low of $112K just three days in. The drop came amid rising political tensions among major world powers, including the movement of nuclear submarines.

✅BTC, however, rebounded quickly from that slump. Within a few days - by last Friday - it was testing the $117K level. After some initial resistance, the bulls broke through on Saturday.

✅At the time of writing, buying pressure has persisted, pushing BTC above $118K and setting a 10-day high of around $119K.

✨In the second week of August 2025, top cryptocurrencies continued their strong upward momentum, fueled by heavy institutional buying and growing investor optimism around a potential Fed rate cut.

✨BTC reached a new all-time high, while ETH came close to reclaiming its peak after four long years. However, the rally was cut short as the entire market faced a sharp correction triggered by unfavorable macroeconomic data from the US.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization increased by ~$11B (from ~$3986B to ~$3997B).

✨BTC Consolidation Holds Amid Volatility
✅BTC kicked off the business week with bullish momentum, surging from $118K to over $122K on Monday alone. After a slight pullback, the bulls returned midweek, propelling BTC to a new all-time high of $124.5K in the early hours of August 14 - breaking its previous July peak.

✅However, the rapid $5K price pump was followed by an expected correction, pulling BTC back to $121K. The real hit came later that day after the release of hotter-than-expected July PPI data, which triggered an immediate plunge below $118K.

✅Since then, BTC has moved mostly sideways around $118K, showing little reaction to a highly anticipated but underwhelming meeting between the US and Russian presidents.

✅On August 12, during the Vietnam–Korea Business Forum, Dunamu – operator of South Korea’s largest crypto exchange Upbit – signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MB Bank, one of Vietnam’s top five banks.

Under this partnership, MB Bank will act as a strategic partner, offering regulatory support and payment infrastructure. Meanwhile, Dunamu will provide the full technology stack, including trading systems, risk management, regulatory compliance, investor protection, and staff training – paving the way for the launch of Vietnam’s first locally-run digital asset exchange.
