✨The cryptocurrency market saw strong growth in the first week of May, fueled by a wave of positive news.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization increased by ~$364B (from ~$2972B to ~$3336B).

✨BTC’s Impressive Week
✅As of May 6, BTC had just been rejected at $98K, sliding back below $94K. While that $4K dip seemed sharp, BTC was still up nearly $20K from early April’s lows.

✅After bouncing off support, it took just a day for BTC to blast through the $100K mark, reclaiming six-digit territory for the first time in over three months.

✅By Friday, BTC had surged to over $104K, its highest since late January. Although a slight pullback followed, BTC now trades above $103K, marking a 7% weekly gain and a 26% surge over the past month.

✨Featured News
✅Ethereum successfully deployed the long-awaited Pectra upgrade on mainnet on May 7, 2025, marking a key milestone in its roadmap. Following the upgrade and positive macro news, ETH surged nearly 40% in a week, breaking past $2.5K.

✅Several altcoins have also posted notable gains. Leading the charge is DOGE, which has jumped over 16% to trade above $0.24. Other strong performers include ADA, AVAX, LINK, SHIB, HBAR, TON, and PEPE.

✅Coinbase has agreed to acquire Deribit, the world’s largest Bitcoin and Ethereum options exchange, in a $2.9 billion deal. The acquisition includes $700M in cash and 11M Coinbase shares, and is expected to close by year-end pending regulatory approval.
