🔊Weekly Market Highlights #125: November 18 - November 24

✨The third week of November 2024 saw a significant surge in BTC prices, accompanied by notable events such as the SEC Chairman announcing his resignation, FTX confirming its payment timeline, MicroStrategy breaking records for BTC purchases, SOL hitting an all-time high, and XRP reaching its highest price in three years.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization increased by ~$327B (from ~$3052B to ~$3336B).

✨BTC Calms to $98K
✅BTC started the business week trading at around $90K but quickly gained momentum, surpassing its all-time high of $93.8K by midweek. This surge was fueled by growing net inflows into spot BTC ETFs in the US.

✅The rally continued, peaking on Friday when BTC came tantalizingly close to $100K, reaching $99.6K on most exchanges. However, despite widespread anticipation and predictions from the community, it fell just short of the milestone. Since then, BTC has pulled back slightly, retracing to $98K.

✅Meanwhile, BTC’s dominance over altcoins has dipped to around 58%, sparking speculation about the possibility of an altcoin season.

✅MicroStrategy recently revealed that it spent $4.6 billion to acquire an additional 51,780 BTC at an average price of $88,627/ BTC. With this latest purchase, Michael Saylor's company has increased its total BTC holdings to 331,200, at an average acquisition price of $49,874 per BTC.

✅The SEC has confirmed that Gary Gensler will step down as Chairman on January 20, 2025, coinciding with Donald Trump's inauguration as President of the United States.

✅FTX has announced that it is nearing the completion of its restructuring process, expected in early 2025, which will pave the way for the commencement of payments to affected investors.

✅SOL solidified its position as a top 3 market asset by surpassing its all-time high of $264 and is currently trading around $252. Similarly, XRP hit a 3-year high of $1.63 and is now trading at approximately $1.45.
