✨Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market had a rough last week of June 2024, falling to a six-week low, but things picked up over the weekend.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization increased by ~$28B (from ~$2,308B to ~$2,336B).

✨BTC Holds At $61K
✅Late at night on June 24 and early morning on June 25, BTC price adjusted profoundly, at times dropping to as low as $58.4K, before recovering to the ~$61K range.

✅This is the lowest price of BTC since May 1, 2024, when this currency had a record outflow of more than half a billion USD from Bitcoin ETF funds, causing the BTC price to collapse to $56.5K. Thus, BTC has lost nearly 12% of its value in just 5 days since the $66.3K mark on June 20.

✅The weekend was more positive as BTC increased ~4% in price to ~$62.7K, bringing optimism to the entire market after a gloomy week.

✨The Rise Of Major Altcoins
✅AVAX is the best performer of the week with a ~22% increase, currently trading around ~$29.5. This is followed by SOL (18%), DOT (12%), and LINK (10%), trading at ~$147, $6.3, and $14.4, respectively.

✨After a decade-long wait, Mt. Gox users finally started getting their assets back. The announcement of Mt. Gox payouts and consistent selling pressure from the German government throughout the week have sparked significant concern in the crypto investment community. As a result, BTC has seen continuous selling pressure, driving its price down to $53.5K—a level not observed since February 2024.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization decreased by ~$288B (from ~$2,336B to ~$2,048B).

✨BTC Price Drops Sharply
✅In just 1 week, BTC's price has lost ~16%. Starting the week at $62.8K, the bulls pushed BTC to $63.8K. The attempt to push the price up failed as the market was flooded with bad news about Mt. Gox, and the German government started selling BTC, pushing BTC price down to $53.5K.

✅In that context, the total value of liquidated derivative orders in the last 4 hours reached $283M, and in 12 hours, it was $457M, with the long side accounting for 89.9%. The whole market fell into a state of fear.

✨Altcoins Bleeding
✅As BTC suffered, altcoins also had a red week. Most of the top altcoins suffered double-digit price drops.

✅On a weekly scale, PEPE has the most significant price decrease of ~30%, currently trading at ~$0.000008454. Other names such as ETH, BNB, XRP, DOGE, LINK, and BCH are down from 10% to 20%.

✅However, meme-coins seem to have gained investor confidence over the past week, and the meme-coin market remains very active.

✨Despite widespread apprehension, BTC recovered during the second week of July, albeit amidst lingering doubts.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization increased by ~$208B (from ~$2,048B to ~$2,256B).

✨BTC Jumps Above $60K
✅Driven perhaps by uncertainty surrounding the Mt. Gox BTC distribution and actions by the German government, the primary cryptocurrency experienced a sharp sell-off nine days ago, plummeting from over $58K to a multi-month low of under $54K.

✅Bulls attempted a recovery, initially halted but resumed early last business week. BTC briefly surpassed $59K, notably after favorable US CPI data was released on Thursday.

✅However, momentum faltered, and it retraced to $56.5K by Friday evening before reclaiming some ground on Saturday to stabilize around $58K. Increased market volatility following events involving US presidential candidate Donald Trump initially shook the market, but failed assassination attempts triggered a rally in BTC and most of the market.

✅Specifically, BTC surged above $60K for the first time since the previous Friday and is currently holding steady.

✨Alts See Green
✅Aside from all Trump-related tokens skyrocketing by double-digits, most other larger-cap alts have turned green. On a weekly scale, ETH has tapped $3,2K after a 12% increase, while BNB has neared $540 after a minor daily jump.

✅More impressive gains come from the likes of XRP, ADA, SOL, DOGE, LINK, BCH, and NEAR, with two-digit increases.
