🔊Weekly Market Highlights #102: June 10 - June 16

✨Selling pressure has returned to the crypto market, as BTC and many major altcoins corrected to their lowest levels in the past 2 months following macro news about interest rates and inflation in the US.

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization decreased by ~$136B (from ~$2,561B to ~$2,425B).

✨BTC’s Volatile Week
✅As mentioned above, the last several weekends have been quite dull regarding price movements, as did the previous one, in which BTC stood at around $69,5K. Monday began more positively as the asset jumped to just over $70K but was quickly stopped there and pushed down by $4K.

✅This volatility came as investors prepared for the US CPI numbers and the subsequent FOMC meeting. The better-than-expected inflation data sent BTC flying to $70K again, but the FED’s refusal to cut the interest rates resulted in another price drop.

✅The retracements culminated on Friday as the cryptocurrency dropped to its lowest monthly price: $65K. It bounced off in the following hours and has remained at just over $66,000 for the past 36 hours.

✨Weekly Losers and Gainers
✅TONCOIN and Uniswap’s native token have emerged as the biggest gainers since last Sunday. TON has added 10% of value and sits at $7.8, while UNI is up by 15% and trades above $11.5.

✅In contrast, BNB has dropped by 11% within the same timeframe and is currently at $606. BNB charted a new all-time high last week of over $715 but has lost more than $100 since then. NEAR and SHIB are the other double-digit losers from the larger-cap alts.

✅SOL, DOGE, ADA, LINK, AVAX, BCH, LINK, MATIC, ETH, and DOT are also in the red, but in a less violent manner.

✅The crypto market cap has lost over $136B in the past seven days.

✨Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index is 71 - Greed, lower than at the beginning of the week (72)

✨Dominance:
✅BTC: 53.9%
✅ETH: 17.8%

✨The third week of June continues to see a decline in BTC and the entire crypto market

✨Over the past week, the crypto market total capitalization decreased by ~$117B (from ~$2,425B to ~$2,308B).

✨BTC Sees Multi-Week Low
✅All BTC could do last week was start the week at $66.7K and rise slightly to $67.3K.

✅After last week’s unsuccessful attempt to overcome $70K, BTC headed straight south and slumped to $63,3K on Friday, a monthly low.

✅BTC's market cap has plummeted to under $1,238B, while its dominance over the alts remains at 54.2% on CoinMarketCap

✨Altcoins In The Red
✅When BTC bleeds, the entire market is not healthy. On a weekly scale, SOL is the name with the strongest decline with a drop of ~15%, currently trading around ~$127.

✅Most other major altcoins also saw similar price drops: AVAX (15%), SHIB (15%), LINK (11%), DOT (10%), and BCH (10%)

✅ETH and BNB are down 5% weekly, currently trading around ~$3400 and ~$575.

✅Total 2 Index (Marketcap excluding BTC) is now at $1.05B

✨Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index is 51 - Neutral, lower than at the beginning of the week (71)
